    32Red launches new sportsbook

32Red has launched a new sportsbook powered by Ireland's Global Betting Exchange (GBE): 32RedBet.com.

The launch of the sportsbook comes at a really important time for 32Red. The World Cup is only six months away.

    From Gaming Intelligence:

"We are very pleased to be launching a 32Red online betting service ahead of what should be an interesting year with England’s participation in the 2010 World Cup," said Ed Ware, CEO of 32Red.

"Adding sports betting to our existing range of online gaming services goes a long way to completing our product range and, apart from encouraging our existing players to use 32Red for their sports betting requirements, will also allow us to target new areas in our existing markets."

    That will be interesting.

While there are some synergies with online casino/poker players (it's all online gambling after all) the running of an online sportsbook requires a lot of new skillsets as well.

A surprising move if you ask me. As Gooner says, running a sportsbook is a lot different from operating a casino. They did try once with sports betting with very limited success when they bought BetDirect which was sold off 1½ years later at half price. But if they manage to operate their sportsbook as well as their casino and pokerroom, there is hope.

mmmmm, at the end, just a skin. it seems to be one of the "betdaq-not-as-betting-exchange"-books like betchronicle, so it is not new. just one more sign, that nearly no company is tough enough to open an own sportsbook today. ok, titan is going to try it, but it is more and more getting a skin-after-skin-party.

all betdaq-books look same in their structure and also you recognize them in their adresses, the /UI/Default.aspx after the domain-name
