Mine is different. I am a stay at home mother. We moved in with my husbands unlce 7 years ago. He has a disability which means that he needs supervision, help with hygien, meds, cooking and above all companionship.
They needed help so we came here. I look after him and make sure I am home for hime when he is finished his day programs.
This has allowed me to be fortunate enough to be at home with all 3 of my kids (although some days it would be nice to work outside of the home for more adult conversations)
The one thing that we are really blessed with doing this is my soon to be 9 year old accepts people as they are. She does not make fun of those who are different as I have always taken her down to the drop in center to meet otehr who have more physical differences than her uncle. She made a friend at school who was severly disabled and could not talk or walk and included him in every activity she participated in.
In her eyes there is no difference which is a beautiful thing!
