Thumbs up GPWA Acquires CAP and Lyceum Media! (Just Joking)

Sometimes jokes are not funny to everyone involved, and that was the case here. I want to apologize for that since I truly do value a good working relationship between CAP and the GPWA. I think everyone does. So, I've made a couple edits in this thread and have also quoted the contents of this first post below so that it is clearly understood by anyone in the future, before they start reading it, that the beginning of the post is in jest.

I'm extremely pleased and excited to announce that earlier today the GPWA established a controlling interest in both CAP and Lyceum Media.

Since becoming the executive director of the GPWA nearly two years ago I've worked hard to establish a very positive and cooperative relationship with CAP, and they've done the same with us. We actively promote the CAP Euro conferences to our members and they support our participation in a variety of ways - I spoke at the first CAP Euro conference and we have had a stand at all of their conferences. We both agree that a strong cooperative relationship is important to the growth of the industry.

And we have looked for ways to work even more closely together. In fact, Warren Jolly made a trip to our offices a year ago in the interest trying to work even more closely with us. More recently we have both established groups on facebook, which will be a major focus of the GPWA moving forward. And we've also worked very closely over the years with our friends at Lyceum Media, who together with CAP, put on the CAP Euro conferences.

Thus it is with great pleasure, and in the spirit of even greater cooperation in the future between the GPWA and CAP and Lyceum Media, that I announce our newest round of acquisition activities on facebook. Our new acquisitions of CAP and Lyceum media make our acquisition of Calvin Ayre, as the CEO of BoDog last week, seem like childsplay (for more details on our Bodog acquisition, see the thread GPWA Acquires Bodog!).

Once again we've used the popular "Friends for Sale!" facebook application. The application has well over a half million users on a daily basis, and has allowed us to acquire all of the key players in CAP and Lyceum Media as "pets."

Planning for the acquision began some time ago. Any acquisition takes capital, and the first order of business was to raise the capital necessary. As was the case with Bodog last week, this was a group exercise at a management level within the GPWA since we felt it was necessary to raise the "Friends for Sale!" funds required for this massive acquisition as well as the funds that might be necessary to fight off any subsequent hostile takeover attempts. We intend for our controlling interest to survive over the longer term - not just for an afternoon.

Between myself, as the Executive Director of the GPWA, and Steven Corfman, as the Program Manager, we have acquired the following executives and staff at CAP and Lyceum Media and related businesses:

Casino Affiliate Programs

CEO
President
Product Manager
General Manager of Online Poker Division
Marketing Director
Marketing Coordinator

Lyceum Media:

Jodi Thind - Founder and Managing Partner
Larry Colcy, Senior PR Account Manager
Melissa Ross, PR Manager
Michael Caselli - Founder and Partner

iGaming Business (affiliated with Lyceum Media):

Michael Caselli - Managing Editor
Alex Pratt - Publisher

SportBusiness Group (affiliated with Lyceum Media):

Sasha Barker - Senior Events Producer

As I've stated before, over the long term I expect facebook to play an increasingly important role in the GPWA. We are devoting a substantial effort to building facebook applications that we think will change the face of the iGaming industry. We invite you to join us for an exciting ride. You can start by using this link to join the GPWA group on facebook.

Our "acquisitions" of CAP and Lyceum Media and Bodog might be just for fun, but the applications we are developing on facebook will change the way you think of affiliate marketing. As I stated when we acquired Bodog last week, we'll be making the first in a series of major announcements about our facebook plans at CAC Amsterdam. I hope to see you there!

Michael
