I have attended numerous conferences over the years and have to say it seems to be mostly comprised of the same people event after event.

I will admit I haven't attended one since Sam (uncle) put his foot down, so possibly the number of newbies who become repeat attendees is on the rise, but I have my doubts.

greek39, I wouldnt say they are necessarily tailored toward the elite, though travel expenses for upstarts might not be feasible - no doubt plenty a sucker has paid the piper only to make a deal with the likes of cpays etc. and were ran out of the business sooner rather than later.

I'm just curious about the justification for a conference every other month. Personally as a larger affiliate I don't need to travel across the country to have someone buy me a drink in some cases at the direct expense of other affiliates. I'm also trying to look at it from a programs perspective (which is really not possible, but I'm trying anyway) I dont understand why its necessary to party at every given opportunity - seems the money could be much better spent.
