Exclamation 70% Promotion!!!

Hi;

We are pleased to inform that as part of our new promotional campaings, ActionGold will encourage all affiliates to increase their profits through different options.
Because of that, we want to get you onto the special deal of 70% Commission right away and this will last until the end of June. There will be a small target of 50 active players that you would need to bring in over the months of May and June (25 per month) and we would give you a 50% Revenue Share on each of those two months.

If you manage to bring through 70 active players to us in total in May and June, we will give you besides the 50% from those two months a 70% on July and then you would move to the regular commission percentage from August on.
We hope all affiliates can take advantage of this promotion and be able to highly increase their profits.

Kindest regards;

Fred Umana

70% is good, but that is a huge qualification of 50 active players to make the deal. Not worth it IMO 'cause if you don't make the 50 players - you are screwed.

70% is an awesome commission rate, but trying to be able to bring in 50 new active players is a little unreasonable. The 50% commission rate is still good for those two months, but what if you do not reach the goal for the 70%, and you still get the 50%, that is fine.... but what does the commision rate go to after this exclusive promotion?

It follows the typical trend of giving the big ones even more. Why not give good incentives to the thousands of small affiliates instead?

I would agree that the 50 active player threshold is far too high for most people to seriously consider.

The ActionGold brands are second tier at best - with TigerGaming, ActionPoker and PokerinCanada hardly "must play" destinations for players.

Unless these brands are also offering staggering promotions for players then I would expect most affilaite to fall short ...

And I think that ActionGold also thinks so to ... with is why they can offer such an attractive headline but still know that they will only have to pay this to a small percentage of affiliates that try ...

The problem with promotions of this sort is that affiliate programs, and sometimes senior affiliates forget that this affiliate industry is made up of tens of thousands of small affiliates.

This larger group of affiliates may struggle to get 1 or 2 players a month at some programs and hit zero at some programs or a reguar basis.

This does NOT make them less of an affiliate and in fact, I have a great respect for affiliates that fall into this categoiry and have the resolve to keep at it because they know the potential of the industry. They know deep inside that the next player they get could be a long term player that enjoys playing and will continue to do so for a long time.

I have many friends in this industry, both in the sectors that actually have a shot at the promotions that require 50 new players in a months time frame as well as those that would probably never get to that figure by the end of the year and I will work with and help those at both ends of the spectrum as much as I can. (This is what the GPWA is all about by the way)

It sometimes saddens me to see how some affiliate promotions are structured because the management just forgets how much work and effort are involved from the little guys as well.

I'd like to see more promotions that take some of these sentiments into account and structure the contests etc so that everyone has a shot.

Hey Rick - good post.

But I do not understand why it "saddens" you. This is a business.

It is a legitimate and possibly very effective commercial strategy to offer a high tier rate to attract top affiliates. This is not a reason for joy or sadness or any such emotions.

The best thing that the GPWA can do - is provide guidance to new webmasters and smaller members not to underestimate the efforts needed to get 50 ACTIVE signups.

Not in the gambling biz, but during the years I have seen some small companies going to bankruptcy as a result of these kinds of incentives only for super affiliates.

With the time , they becomes prisoners of a small group of marketers and that is lethal. All the time at the mercy of these guys.
