Default Account Suspension - Lack of communication

    Hello,

I'm the owner of Betshoot.com website and in last 25 days we have experienced affiliate account suspension from Betvictor.com. Everything worked more than well with our cooperation in previous few years, but from this month we are unable to login to our account, previous payment is withheld, our affiliate links are not working anymore and most importanly, there is a serious lack of communication from their side.

Out of many e-mails we've sent, we only got a poorly explanation that our account is pending security investigation three weeks ago. Persons we've tried to contact were : Pauline Andrew, Alisa Harper, John Rawles, Jean Martinez-Oliver, and the security department. Only John replied before a week, saying he has no news.

Probably some bonus abuse is in question as we had largely increased number of signups in previous month, but it's of course not our fault as we are unable to control people who visit us. We had similar problem in previous years with couple of two bookmakers as well, but the problems were resolved within couple of working days and of course with close work and without suspended account etc.

If there is anybody else from Betvictor reading this, any kind of help would be really appreciated, as its already four weeks that the account is suspended and we have no replies or help from you.

    Thanks in advance,
    Isaiah

    Anyone?

Sounds incredible that after mailing almost whole affiliate department there is no reply from someone, either here!

I had exactly the same problem with them about this time last year. The pattern of how it happened is exactly the same as you, I just couldn't get into my account one day, no warning, no emails, no explanations, just suspended my account and that was that.

Luckily I hadn't had that much traction with them anyway, so the amount lost was not great at all. I probably gave them maybe 100 signups and never seemed to make any money out of them anyway, maybe a couple of hundred quid over the course of a year.

I finally got through to the 'security team' (what a joke for a small affiliate program to hide behind such titles), but after a bunch of curt and obtuse emails from Jean Martinez-Oliver I gave up and decided they were a program to avoid.

Certainly a shoddy way to treat affiliates and they were certainly in no mood to help me or reinstate my account, makes me laugh really as they don't know how well they could have done out of me if I pushed them, shows what happens when you 'assume' someone is a small affiliate cos they don't have great numbers with you.

BetVictor Affiliates = absolute weapons in my experience.

    Thanks for your reply RacingJim.

What's impressive for me is their behavior because, at least from my experience, we should be an important affiliate for them. We had tons of depositing customers every month with them, with maybe 100+ signups in previous months, of course I can't even remember anymore cause everything is disabled. Our earnings were strong four digits numbers each month, so their share was five digits number per month. Everything looked promising and in constant uptrend in last two years. We are ranked first at Google for the keyword "BetVictor review" etc, etc and with everything being said... this experience is just leaving me in disbelief.

It is worrying that a number of programs out there appear to just shut down affiliate accounts, and sometimes they're profitable and active accounts. The potential longevity and sustainability of a business relationship with any new advertiser is probably our number 1 factor in considering how much space, if any we give them. I wouldn't want to be running a business where we were earning 4 or 5 figures per month from an advertiser we thought could just close our account tomorrow.

However, most programs do have it in their T&Cs that either party can terminate the agreement with x days notice. I don't know how well this might hold up if you took legal action, as some of the other terms contradict this. For example, when a program states they will give you "lifetime revenue share", this would probably be looked down on by a court, or someone like the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA), who i've done a lot of work with in previous jobs before becoming an affiliate.

Certainly if you've lost x hundred players and a good amount of regular income from any advertiser, it would be worth pursuing a claim - it might only cost you a few hundred pounds/dollars on your side to formally raise the issue, but the defendent would have to answer it in court, which would cost them more.

As always though, if you can talk to any advertiser first that's the most sensible option. Turn up at their stand at LAC and ask for answers.

I had it happen to me as well.

It seems to coincide with me getting a good amount of commission the previous month, then I had an email from
affiliate security. The contents of which were:

    "2.16 Continued Promotion

BetVictor reserve the right to adjust affiliate commissions and/or close accounts that are not continually and actively promoting BetVictor.

BetVictor also reserves the right to close affiliates accounts and withhold initial commissions pertaining to affiliates that have not referred a minimum of one depositing player per calendar month; and/or accounts that are only linked to a single active player.

    . 3.5 Inactive Accounts

BetVictor reserves the right to withhold commission and close any affiliate account deemed to be inactive for a period of 3 months or more. Decisions on inactivity are made at the discretion of the BetVictor Affiliates team but will be influenced by last login date, number of clicks, impressions and referrals."

Yup, nothing but a standard quote of their terms and conditions. So if you make money they will close your account.

Maybe they are having financial difficulty are something at BetVictor.. as the last company to do something unscrupulous was Stan James.

Ps. Have you noticed Stan James are no longer here ?

And so, more people with the same experience at this joke of an affiliate program. What a way to treat people, just closing accounts when you've worked for signups.

    Bet Victor = thieves.

Who knows it could be YOU next. It's easy to turn a blind eye I suppose, we are mostly small businesses, many one-man bands etc, people want to keep their head down and hope the same doesn't happen to their account - but I'm going to keep calling out Bet Victor and I'm going to KEEP warning people about them.

This whole business is meant to be a partnership, Bet Victor are clearly breaking the spirit of this relationship regularly (who knows how many people have had this happen who don't post on GPWA). I suggest they should go in the bin and not be allowed to be a sponsor on the forum.

Affiliate accounts that are sending traffic OR actively advertising the brand are NOT inactive.

Any affiliate program that deems an affiliate inactive when they are putting forth a good faith effort to actively promote a brand, should NOT be promoted.

Small affiliates deserve more respect then to be deemed inactive because they have less traffic that large affiliates.

Today's small affiliate "could" be a super affiliate one day and most certainly will remember those brands that treated them like they were not deserving of their respect....and today's larger affiliates could easily find themselves getting hammered by a search engine change or dip and be on the end of receiving one of these demeaning and demoralizing emails, and should think long and hard before promoting brands that have a history of taking such actions.

Well, i do not think that an affiliate is characterized as 'small' if you bring them 100+ regs per month and you have 4 digit numbers as rev share, so i guess i was some of their medium-big affs.

Anyway, nothing changed so far, 30 days already passed from account suspension, totally no response from any of the seven contacts of betvictor i tried to be in contact. I am sure it's not a coincidence that none of the contacts replied, this is organised and well known between them.

Apart from the outcome that this case will have, i can easily say and recommend to any affiliate to stay away from Betvictor at all costs.

Its disgusting how they treat affiliates, I had been an affiliate of theirs since 2004.

Send the traffic to a bookie that cares about smaller affiliates.

They aren't affiliate friendly anymore. Hopefully they will go the way of Stan James the last company to
    pull a similar stunt.

No BetVictor response and no official response from GPWA? It seems BetVictor are held up to different rules than say Stan james? Or does it depend on WHICH affiliates they actually pick on?

BetVictor - the GOLD GPWA sponsors (wonder how much they pay for that?) who close people's active accounts without notice and do not reinstate the accounts even after strong efforts from the affiliates. Brilliant.

I would have a word with them direct. I did visit their stand at LAC to clarify why/if accounts were being closed without notice and as you know now, BetVictor don't like to discuss things on open forums.

I was fairly reassured that BetVictor had their own reasons for accounts and it wasn't going to be some sort of random thing that would occur to me, so perhaps there has been a misunderstanding somewhere and people having account issues above may be able to resolve their issues direct with BetVictor.

I've got a contact if anyone needs it. I don't want to plaster people's email addresses all over forums, so PM me if needed.

My theory is, this forum is run by webmasters themselves who also have affiliate accounts. It's quite conceivable and highly likely they still have accounts themselves at said affiliate programs, so they're not gona rock the boat very much themselves. Just a thought on to why they seem so toothless?

they are completely toothless due to the money involved, programs pay to be on here then GPWA get you to join the programs and earn as sub affiliates. just a money making tool, no way on earth would progrmas get away with what they do if this place was not for profit

Although, I spoke to Anthony who runs this (GPWA) site and he said they didnt renewal Stan James sponsorship deal because of the way
    they treated affiliates.
