Adobe "throws in towel" on Flash player for mobile devices

So this isn't really online gambling industry news, but definitely online industry news. Adobe has announced that it has stopped developing a Flash Player for mobile devices, "surrendering to Apple," according to Reuters.

Adobe's concession to Apple and its late founder Steve Jobs, who famously derided Flash as an inefficient power-hog, comes as the design software specialist warned that revenue growth will slow next year when it shifts toward leasing its software on a subscription basis instead of selling licenses up front.
Adobe conceded that the mobile standard is now HTML5, according to the article.

I think will have a long term effect on Adobe.

If using flash programming is less attractive for mobile devices, I think the long term effect will be that over time using flash programming will also become less attractive for other web devices (such as the computer browser) since those that want to program for both devices will not want to have two distinct seperate programming directions.

It doesn't make any sense saying they're surrendering to Apple, since more Android devices are being sold than iPhones, and the Android OS is capable of running Flash (although many lower-spec phones aren't powerful enough, but newer ones have no problem). They're using Apple's decision as an excuse which really isn't a valid reason to give up ALL mobile development, only Apple development. Yes HTML5 is better, but it would still be convenient to be able to access legacy content on mobile devices.
