affiliate link not showing in bar for CR banners

Ive managed to do most of CR promos manually but I am curious why simply copy and pasting a banner code provided by the affiliate section does not show the affiliate code.

If I post the image and add the affiliate link separately the link will appear. Tracking doesnt seem to work if a banner is simply posted from the code provided.

yes, CR uses a javascript onmousedown function to mask the URL. When someone clicks the link/banner the onmousedown swaps the URL. Personally, I feel it was more for their SEO purposes than anything else.

let me add it only works for the first click. Hover over the link/banner after the click and you'll see the full URL w/ aff-id in the status bar.

Just to clarify, the reason we brought this in was due to the overwhelming number of people who used to complain that they wanted a way to hide their affiliate ID in their link so that people can't see they are getting paid for a referral by hovering over the link.

If you click and hold the mouse on a banner you will see your aff ID in the status bar at the bottom. The affiliate link is inserted on click.

FWIW if you don't want to do it this way you're still able to replace the < a > tag with your affiliate link from the linking codes page or use that to hide your affiliate ID in your own way.
