    How did you get into the industry?
    I was a financial services direct marketing pioneer. I then became extremely excited by the online marketing environment - hence my moving sectors and joining an online casino group.

    What jobs have you had?
    I have worked for one of the largest financial institutions globally, the leading direct marketing company, and the largest global power tool company.

    Why do you like the gaming Industry?
    Its ever-changing and dynamic. You have to be on top of your game or you lose.

    Could you tell us a little bit about your program?
    ReferBack started in 1989 and is the exclusive affiliate program for the Belle Rock Entertainment Group of online casinos, poker and bingo rooms. Since those early days, ReferBack has become the most established global affiliate program, offering multiple language sites in multiple currencies.

    How do you approach working with portal webmasters?
    Strong focus is placed on our relationships. We focus on communication, support, and a state-of-the-art product offering. Our webmaster relationships have made our business a success, and without these personal relationships we would soon be out of business. Our webmasters are not merely part of our program, but are our partners. We are involved in symbiotic relationships, and theyre managed on a personal level with each and every webmaster. Regular communication and understanding of both businesses is imperative. This makes for a healthy, productive, win-win environment. Through our journey with webmasters, we continuously learn and improve. Bottom line? Its all about the relationship.

    What do you hope to accomplish by being a GPWA sponsor?
    Brand awareness, cementing relationships, and new partnerships. We try to use our GPWA sponsorship as a channel for constant communication with our partners and also as a way to get to know other affiliate programs and their managers.

    What advice would you give to new would-be gaming affiliates?
    Learn SEO! Be patient! Know your target market with that knowledge you can work out a strategy to build a Web site that speaks to this market/player type. Work closely with the affiliate programs you belong to use your account managers they are there to help you grow.

    What makes your program a unique experience for its players?
    Our people! We have dedicated teams of experts including: a large creative studio, retention and conversion divisions, marketing divisions focusing on specific global markets, a state-of-the-art IT division with global departments, a product development division, and a business intelligence division including research. All of our people are tasked with ensuring that we develop and execute the best player experience in this extremely competitive industry.

    What do you see as the most essential things that an affiliate must be doing today to achieve long-term success?
    Affiliates should not give up. They should have excellent knowledge of SEO as well as business and e-marketing savvy, and should work closely with their account managers to maximize their potential and build strong relationships of trust and support. Do not expect overnight success - building your business will take time. Attend conferences and learn your skill. The results can be extremely rewarding.

    In 2008 - where do you see this industry?
    Markets outside the US will become mature and sustainable - from an industry perspective. The regulation of the industry will gain momentum, ensuring long-term sustainability.

    Thanks for the interview CasinoCity. I have been promoting referback for a long time now and have been very happy with their support services and the excellent promotions that they provide for affiliates to give to their players.
