Default Affiliate Manager Interview Series: Jason Fox - CWC Affiliates

What differentiates CWC affiliates from other affiliate programs?
I think the biggest difference is that we pay on the first of the month every month, even on weekends. Circumstances over the past five months have made life a little more complicated for us, but we have managed to continue to process payments to our affiliates through a number of methods. What sets us apart isn't easy to answer as I don't study other programs closely. I prefer to run independently and work with our affiliates so they feel comfortable promoting us knowing their players are being well treated and will return.

What are the most popular games at the Club World casinos?
The slots really rock, especially the Real Series selection. With a 20-cent bet you have the chance of winning a huge jackpot, which is a great attraction. It really does happen. Just last week a 40-cent bet won more than $5500.

What are the differences between attracting U.S. players vs. European players vs. players from other parts of the world?
Advertising to different continents is a skill that only the affiliates from that area of the world can truly have. People have different tastes and to cater for them, you need to know what attracts them the most. For example, being British, I am more likely to go to site with a UK URL or a Union Jack on the site. It's a matter of feeling secure knowing where you are gambling as well as having flashy banners offering free bonuses.

What songs are on your iPod (or mp3 player)?
I have no time to listen to music, but if the odd moment arises, I would put on my Chas and Dave cassette and jive the night away to Snooker Loopy. This answer is really for a UK audience as I am pretty certain no one anywhere else in the entire world has heard of Chas and Dave or Snooker Loopy.

What’s your next big purchase (personal)?
I would love to buy an iPod to listen to my Best of Chas and Dave downloads.

What was your favorite subject in school?
Chemistry, until I was thrown out of class for setting off an explosion. The potassium was just lying around and I thought it would be safer in water than oil...silly me.

What thing (event, person, or program) has influenced the way you conduct yourself / do business as an affiliate manager?
No one thing in particular, it's just basic ethics; honesty and treating others the way you would like to be treated.

What’s the key to building successful relationships between affiliates and affiliate programs?
Being honest and treating them the way I would want to be treated...pretty similar to the answer above.

How did you get started in this business?
I am still trying to work that one out. The industry was brought to my attention by a friend who introduced me to someone else and the rest is history.

What’s the first concert you attended in person?
I think it was Simply Red in 1986, far too long ago to have vivid memories of it, but I am sure they were great.

What are your three keys to success for an affiliate?
If I knew that I would be an affiliate. From what I see it is an attractive, well presented Web site with great content and Club World Casino on their homepage.

    Describe your ideal day off?
Ideal day off would be getting up at midday, going to see Manchester United play football and win 6-0 and then having a curry and spending the rest of the evening watching Coronation Street, CSI, ER and the Bill.
Fantasy day off would be a Groundhog-Day-type day, where I would do the above and it never ended, the only difference being United playing different teams and there would be new episodes of the TV dramas...dreaming of it now.

What's the most amount of money you've ever won at a casino?
I used to play in land-based casinos, not so much anymore, but when I did the most I won was £10,000 on roulette. One number came in 3 times and I had quite a few quid on it...ahhhh, happy times. Shame it only happened once...but that's the gamble.
I have left the industry and earned a law degree at Indiana University Bloomington, Maurer School of Law. Here are ways to stay in touch with me:

I would have to agree that CWC Affiliates (both Jason and Jonathan) are awesome to work with... For RTG - this is always my first choice because I know they will pay players as fast as humanly possible..

They are fast and definitely worthy of promotion - I really can't say enough about them..

Haha, many managers think it's easy being an affiliate, you know it's not.

Club World Casinos on the front page - good one!

You guys rock, best RTG around, both casino and program!

Coming from the other side of the country, if you are from Manchester, rugby is for me and my first concert was the Moody Blues. Those was the days.
