Tell us about your program.
Roxy Affiliates has been in operation since 2002 and represents Roxy Palace and Casino Splendido, which feature fully translated software and support in English, French, Italian and German (with more languages being added shortly). Both casinos are powered by Microgaming Software on the Viper Platform and offer over 180 games, very generous jackpots, outstanding player promotions and a renowned reputation based on honesty, integrity and unsurpassed customer support.

Since passage of the UIGEA – what has changed and how has your program adapted?
A lot has changed throughout the industry, and both programs and webmasters alike have had to re-evaluate their positions and broaden their focus to include non-US markets in their offerings.

Fortunately, Roxy Affiliates has been operating in the International arena for a number of years, so no major changes were necessary and marketing efforts aimed at expanding existing markets have just been intensified. On the affiliate side, we are working with our webmaster partners to help them to adapt and to broaden their promotional efforts. We are also helping them break into the various language markets by sharing knowledge we’ve gained while operating in these markets.

How do you approach working with portal webmasters?
Openly and honestly as I believe those are the keys to any good relationship. Roxy Affiliates has a very strong offering so it pretty much sells itself, which is fantastic because I can’t think of anything worse than having to corner webmasters and subject them to a “hard sell.” I’ve seen the faces over the years when that happens; they’re looking around the room for an escape route because they feel like they want to run for miles!

What do you hope to accomplish as a GPWA sponsor?
It enables us to be involved in the GPWA process – fostering communication among webmasters, programs, and the greater online gambling community – and provides us with valuable feedback. There is also the brand awareness factor, which helps in recruiting new affiliate partners and growing our business.

What advice would you give to new would-be gaming affiliates?
Do your homework (and there are many subjects) – nothing beats solid research. Focus on a single direction initially and expand as you go; build good solid sites with relevant content; be patient and tenacious…this is a tough industry and things take time.

What makes your program a unique experience for its players?
Both Roxy Palace and Casino Splendido offer the entire player package with safe secure transactions, exhilarating game play, generous ongoing promotions and above all, outstanding customer support where the needs of players are catered to in a prompt, professional, and caring manner.

What do you see as the most essential things that an affiliate must be doing today to achieve long-term success?
Diversification of marketing and promotional efforts with a focus on the International Player audience.

What is your favorite travel destination (for business or pleasure)?
Definitely Las Vegas for business! It’s probably one of the most conducive places to do business and have fun at the same time. The grandeur of the city is captivating and I’ve got the best memories from my last trip there as that’s where many successful business relationships (read: friendships) began. And the place just has a certain magic to it that makes you feel like an invincible partying machine!! Not to mention…it’s HOT!

And when traveling for pleasure nothing beats the beauty of the South African coastlines! Just give me a patch of beach, the sound of the waves, some sunshine and I’m happy!

What sports do you enjoy?
If I have to play the sport, anything involving water (skiing, swimming, etc.). I also love Pilates for relaxation (although don’t think we can call that a sport). As a spectator, it’s definitely soccer, MotoGP and XGames. I have also been forced into watching a few Rugby matches and they aren’t half bad either!

Any other Interests?
I am part of a small group that works to uplift underprivileged communities and also provides spiritual guidance/counseling/prayer for those in need. This is probably my greatest passion. I also enjoy reading and scribbling down my thoughts, and Pilates when I can get out of bed in the mornings.
