Is affiliate marketing your full time job?

I'm interested to see what what percentage of affiliates have alternate sources of income or jobs, and for how many this is a full time job. For the purposes of this poll include all affiliate marketing (including non-gambling) and related activities (eg: writing).

For myself I'm full time and have a UK Ltd company. In addition to some gambling sites I am also in the process of developing a mainstream site that has turned out to be a huge project - it's finally launching in the next month or so.

I've been a full-time casino affiliate marketer for 3 and a half years. Don't do anything else for my income, its all still going pretty well I spend about 5 hours or more each day working on my websites.

It's a user review and geographical search engine for a particular type of place, including facility filters (this last bit has taken up so much time - categorizing over 4000 places, but I'm hoping this will be it's main USP). I'm not saying what the type of places are yet though

To make affiliate marketing your full time job what would be a reasonable livable salary. Remembering that you can work from home (saving on commuting costs), live from another country (cheaper than the UK) and offset tax. So what is a reasonable amount to make to live an ok life? I would say between $4-6k a month but this can vary according to circumstances.

One think I have noticed is the more money you earn the higher your expenses are.If I had no debt I think we could live very comfortable on $3000 a month.

Judy your figure is very close to my actual costs for the last two years, excluding food. In that time I've lived in Australia (two states), USA (four states), Mexico, Barbados, St Vincent & the Grenadines, so costs include flights as well. Of course, living out of one bag and a backpack means I don't buy a lot of stuff. Being debt free is a great feeling.

I always knew in the back of my mind that costs are directly proportional to income and by consciously reducing costs it actually resulted in a better quality of living not worse. Just focus on experiences rather than 'stuff'.

While most of my time is spent on the affiliate website, most of my income comes from AdSense on few sites I write for. My goal since I started a couple of years ago is to change that. The ability to change countries of residence like napkins is perhaps the number 1 benefit for me.

Affiliate marketing is/was my full time job and I have a staff of 3 that bascially do 80% of the work as I've not been active in the affiliate side for almost 2 years. I needed a break and started a social gaming site and more recently a web design site where I got my first customer this month, but igaming has been my only source of income since 2005.

I've gotten my monthly bills down to about 3k as I try to pay cash for everything and not use credit and I'm lucky that there are still programs that are legit and honor lifetime commissions for players. I doubt I do it full-time again until regulation occurs.

I'm part-time as well. I do volunteer work also. Would love to get to the point of $3000-$6000/mo. if possible.

Part time for me and I have another job on the side. Since I am quite new to affiliate marketing I am not making any real cash as of yet and still building\writing on my websites. Makes for a slow going since I have to work at my other job aswell, but I have learned a lot that will be helpfull at other ventures in the future, so it is all worth it no matter what.

I am definitely part time, but I'd say everybody who starts working as an affiliate aims to become a full time one, and to get at least the freedom of movement.

I work at this part-time, about 2 hours a day. I was full time until Black Friday 2011 -- that cut my affiliate income cut by 80%. So in April I got a consulting job in my other area of expertise (User Experience / Usability Engineering), which just turned into a full-time position. Affiliate income has recovered slowly, but is still off 65-70% since Black Friday.
