    Affiliates Using Gaming Site themselves?

    Hi

Just wondered what gaming and in particular Bookmakers (UK mainly) attitude is to affiliates themselves using their sites? Ones you have previously signed up to.? I'm not talking about trying to refer yourself.

I have several old Bookie accounts which i use occasionally, if i become an affiliate for those sites should i cease to use them?

    Any feedback on this appreciated

As long as you aren't signing up under your own affiliate account (and you said you weren't) I don't think any programs have an issue with you playing.

We all have to "test" the games for our review pages, etc.

Many programs force you to open a gaming account so they can pay your commissions into it.

If you are uncertain about a specific program, contact your AM for clarification on their policy.

As far as I know, so long as you don't refer yourself, everything is cool.

Most of the time I pick a member site here and sign up under them. I always lose a little when testing out a site so may as well give the commission to another member.

Yes, I think it is not only accepted but welcome and in some cases encouraged as long as you are not referring yourself. There are a number of affiliate programs that offer player accounts as a method for paying affiliate commissions -- certainly if you're losing the commissions back to the gaming site it makes you a profitable affiliate for them. Just make sure if you have your commission paid into accounts that you play on that you don't loose sight of how much came from affiliate commissions and how much of your budget you wanted to allocate to playing vs. other uses such as covering your website expenses and reinvesting.

Just to confirm I have a number of bookmaker accounts, most of the majors, which I had before promoting them as an affiliate. I continue to use these on a regular basis with no issues. I use Betfair for example every day.

I have a bookie account that was opened directly through their site. Opening one through your own affiliate link would hopefully be spotted and result in a spanking/removal of yourself as an affiliate.
