Hey mate
I'm pretty sure that the APCW and other bodies audit programs regularly. If one turned out not honest, I'm sure everyone would know about it immediately.
Also, a good thing to do is test your links.. Get a friend to sign up and make a deposit and check out your stats.. Best way to test in my opinion..
That way you can see the results for yourself.
Cheers

My personal opinion is that as long as you stick to a "name brand" casino, you are probably OK. I wouldn't say 100%, but doing well.
Some of the smaller ones may be dodgy. It doesn't take much to set up an affiliate program either - so don't be fooled. Do your due diligence. How long have they been in business? How is their customer service (have you ever called them?!) Google the casino and see if there are many bad reviews (even the good ones will hit a tough customer sometimes, so be discretionary). Everything that we tell players applies to affiliates - even more so.
Renee is 100% correct. You merely need to test for yourself. Also, a good thing to do is test your links.. Get a friend to sign up and make a deposit and check out your stats.. Best way to test in my opinion..

I have affilaite friends. I will sign up from a friends banner and deposit. I will cash out, even a small amount. I will chat with my friend and see if my deposit is in their stats. I will see how the cashout goes. Other affiliates sign up through me and do the same. There is a group of us that do this.
It is all part of the due dilligence for me when I promote an affilaite program. The only time I had a problem, it was reported here. The casino is no longer in existance.

Research is a must, google the casino, see what you can dig up, are the results positive? Even a negative entry can be turned into a positive wioth involvement from the casino. And as mentioned above, get a deposit and cash oout processed. That is one of the true tests. Don't wander in blind. You are asking people to spend their cash, would you?

Excellent Rene,
A great idea. I like it. I recently had a friend test some Merge site and boss media site.
We both had terrible problems with Poker Kings, and Iron DUKE.
Our money was taken away, and took a week to get back losing a bit on exchange rates.
These particular sites were the worst i have ever seen in the industry.
Both claimed it was not their issue.
Iron duke claimed it was a merge issue and moneybookers. While Poker Kings just ignored my player.
Without these tests i may have had alot more issues down the road so i agree with you.
Nice that you won CAP award for 2008 i can see why!!
Cheers

I think if you look around you'll see that there are threads started every couple of months regarding the integrity of affiliate programs.. There are always conspiracy theories.
My advice to ANYONE who approaches me with a stats/tracking issue is:
Have you tested the stats yourself?
If not, go test them.
If so, did they work ok for you?
If so, no problems.
If not, step by step on what went wrong including checking of registry files etc...
A lot of the time if a player isn't tracked to an affiliate it's because the player didn't actually click on the affiliate link.. and that's easily found by looking in the registry.
GFPC - Thanks BTW.. I'm proud to have won
Don't forget to vote for me again this year!

I google the crap out of everyone just to be sure.
AK (4 May 2009)
This might become my mantra
But serious, Renee hit it all on the head. I have worked with a lot of casinos in my day, and I had ONE that skimmed players. That's it. Now maybe i was careful who I worked with, but at the end, Just test it every so often. Easy to see...
Renee is right. You have to be sure to test your links periodically. Sometimes casinos may change their links and you may not have received the info (a good program will be proactive, but you never know).
Also, you links may not work due becsue you have changes the code, and you may not have noticed, which would be a user-generated error.
Lastly, I've heard of black hat hackers who hack your hosting account and change their affiliate links to their own.
I like to upload my links again from scratch one a month or so just to be sure.
If you are on a linux host, make sure that your .htaccess has not been hacked.

Agreed also...
I think for payment issues you should definitely use google...
For tracking issues, IMO the only way to know for sure is to do it yourself. Then you can see with your own eyes..
The reason I say this is because you could google aff programs til the cows come home about tracking issues, but the truth is that sometimes bad things are written about programs that is not true, and you shouldn't believe everything you read. So test yourself and you can't go wrong.

We always check casinos out before we promote them.
However it is also important for you to watch your stats and to retest them.
Also I would disagree with the comment about 'Big Brand Name Casinos being Trust worthy'.
Without naming names, a few years ago one of the Biggest UK Casinos lost ALL of our player accounts from our affiliate account, then two years later I heard they did the same 'trick' again.
My point is there is good and bad in big and small, the smaller casino operators 'need' the affiliates more sometimes that causes them to give you the respect they should while some of the 'BIG NAMES' occasionally do thing's that are not in the affiliates best interest.

Not all the operators are playing fair game
Some of them are not consider their affiliates as real partners for long term business and are just "using" them..
E.g. EuroPartners took my commission down from 35% to 10%
without any notice.. 6 month ago.. and their account manager is blaming the other people that worked before of him instead of resolving this situation..
+ he also trying to take advantage on the situation and push me to send more players .. in order to return my commission back from 10% to 35%
Good Joker!!
AK (4 May 2009)
I have nothing bad against EuroPartners, but my friend had the same situation, he contacted Isabella, an affiliate manager, and she returned his commissions back.
And I agree that it's not ethical from their side.
But I have another friend, who knows an engineer, who works at EP, personally, and they are friends, and this guy told my friend that EuroPartners were fair, and their stats was true.
The simple answer is no
I dont mean just casino sites either but also sportsbooks
there are ways to test and so on and there are without doubt trustworthy gambling affiliate sites, otherwise i would not eb in this business
But there are rogues, there are dodgy employees escpeially at the big boys that have in the past taken affiliates from one account and put in to another and so on.
The advice on here is top notch, test test and then test again, tracking your stats daily
If you ever see anything out the ordinary bring it to the attention of your affiliate managers
And finally when possible try and build a good relationship with your affiliate manager, i always do, it can prove invaluable.
but as in every businees not just gambling there will always be bad apples

Here in GPWA, honesty for casino affiliates is really a must to actually avoid rantings from some low-tempered affiliate members.![]()
