    Any Gamers at GPWA?

    Hey Guys,

Are there any gamers amongst us at GPWA? I'm sure there must be a few of us who love a boss battle on WoW or kicking some butt on Xbox Live?

While I wouldn't classify myself as a hardcore gamer, I do have PCs, Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo DS and I play games on my iPhone too.

    Anyone else into gaming?

Anyone fancy a game on Xbox Live sometime or even WoW?

Hubby and I have been gamers for quite awhile. I started in 1996 on Nintendo playing [Killer Instinct]! It got so bad to where I would have to tape my fingers in order to play.

We have a PS3 and I'm axiously awaiting Gran Turismo 5! They have it for the handheld version (PSP), but I don't have one of those and don't want one.

I love to play Tomb Raider, although I'm not any good at it so I try to coax hubby to play for me and I read the walkthru to him, but he don't like to play it.

I like Tekken and Mortal Combat. I don't like the sports games as I don't understand the buttons/plays at all.

My id online is gamtrak for any games that I may sign up for incase anyone wants to play.

Never picked you as a gamer Robin!

You got a 360 at all? Wouldn't mind a game if you have one! I don't have that many PS3 games, I have the original Resistance game which is awesome - rarely play online though. I'll add you next time I'm on the PS3 though!

I'm sure I could surprise you on a few other things that you would never pick me as doing, but we won't go there.

Nope, I only stick with one system (although he did his best to talk me in to an XBox) I was not interested because I really need to slow down on playing due to having rheumatoid arthritis which affects my hands sometimes. I'm hoping that the next thing for gamers will be voice recognition just incase. hehe

    I love gaming.

Allied General is my favourite game, but it no longer works on a pc with anything past windows 2000.

No good at these fighting and sporting games, i am the typical grandad, the grandkids laugh at me when i try to play.

Used to play a lot of Football manager, played 32 seasons of that once and at the end it crashed giving me the message "shouldnt you get a life?"

Given up with that now too as they have some goddam stupid new system of veryfying the licence code which does not work very well.

This lot in mind, you wont be seeing chalkie on xbox live anytime in the near future!

The wife wants a Wii for xmas as she likes the look of the fitness stuff, i told her she cannot have one until i have had the foundations checked out, i mean we dont want the whole house collapsing under the stress now do we! Although, i like the look of some of the games on there and reckon i might be able to do ok with them.

Have you tried the addiction of facebook game application? Am sure you're one of the gamers out there. For me, i'd still rather go for online casino games like blackjack and poker, very strategic indeed.

I build my own PC's and I'm a PC-gamer (console gaming isn't my bag anymore)

Generally prefer turn-based or real-time strategy games (Galactic Civilizations II, Medieval Total War II, etc)

But also enjoy FPS (Call of Duty 4, Left4Dead, etc)

Be aware that gaming is a great release for me, and as such, I am a pretty bad griefer (need to release stress somehow, random interwebs gamers seem to be the perfect target)

If the other team sucks, I make sure they know it in the chat box (the type of things I say in chat are not fit for a public forum like this, I am downright nasty!)

If my team sucks, I make sure they know it when I start dropping grenades on top of them for being incompetent n00bs (i.e. I really hate carrying n00bs)

What I'm trying to say is, you probably don't want to play games with/against me

Perhaps I need a help group?

LOL @ CJ almost losing his girlfriend. I'm sure that goes for most folks that have a non-gaming spouse. I have to nag him to help with chores BEFORE he gets started or nothing would get done.

Hubby plays "Call of Duty 4" and all of the war games. We have it on a 50 inch Plasma that has suround sound that have the windows shaking which does not sit very well with me since it's under my office!

Used to be a hardcore gamer. It all started when my older brother got an Atari 2600 for christmas. Pac man , Dig Dug, Pitfall, Moon Patrol and the list goes on.

C64 and Amiga 500 monumental Sensible Soccer Matches, Panza Kickboxing everything from Team17 and the Bitmapbrothers.

When i hit puperty i took a break from gaming

1999 when the original Unreal Tournament was released i started gaming again. Actually got my internet affinity through Unreal Tournament, playing online ideling in the irc.quakenet 24/7.

Well after that the whole Poker thing started...

Nowadays i rarely play anything or better i consider Internet Marketing my new Game of choice...when other people tell me they are a Lvl 80 Paladin/ Nigth Elve i see my self as a Lvl 70 Internet Marketer/Pokerplayer. More Fun making real Money then collecting virtual Gold.

Used to be a fanatic at football manager and championship manager but the kids started to pile up as well as the work and can no longer justify the time.

That said getting the kids off their Nintendo DS's, PSP and PC games to spend time with me is like pulling teeth.

And now been told got to get the Wii because the other half wants it for Wii Fit.

Something just aint right if you ask me.

I gave up gaming when i started my first websites, though i messed around in Second Life, hoping to find a business model.

I was into wargames, simcity, civilization and bak in the late 70s, role playing games, like D&D and traveller.

I had a lucasfilm game on my pc back in 1997, called strike force, a naval war game that involved managing naval ships and having missle battles. There was one scenario that put you in control of about 35 ships, that you could control individually. Well one day, i finished up the scenario at about 9am, having played all night, losing track. I ended sleeping all day and missing a date with my gf (now the wife) and a dinner with my mom. I kinda quit playing after that.

we do have a Wii, but i try to stay away.

I think *was* is the key operative word for me now. I discovered this when I bought a PSP in Japan, one of the earliest ones - and played it about 10x before reluctantly allowing my kids to touch it, since then I haven't played again. Too many other things to do, besides I hate losing to my kids

I used to spend all my spare time playing games, starting with Space Invaders. Never got into D&D though a few from that crowd met halfway with me and my crowd and we used to play games every night on campus, from Risk to bridge. Some of them were world champion video gamers, and went on to create many of the games that revolutionized the industry.

BTW, does anyone remember Dragon's Lair?
