Very intriguing story, I hope CAP is not implicated on this matter. But I don’t know why I’m pessimist about it. In this world money is more important than moral.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but the music makes j.todd a little hard to hear in the beginning and end, when it overlaps...
It wasn't just you ... I also found the overlap a bit jarring.
It seemed to be a busy day on the street and I think that the background noise made it harder to get a good sound level on J.Todd without also increasing car / dog / genral noise too.
Lou just made a thread over at CAP about his personal information being posted in the most recent APCW video. I wanted to share my thoughts.
For those of you that don't know me, I have been on the poker affiliate side of the industry since 2001-02, and the founder of the original poker affiliate forums at PokerAffiliateWorld.com which are now owned by CAP. (PAP)
I can absolutely see Lou's frustrations about his home address being posted. However I sincerely doubt this was the intention of Jtodd when making the video. This looked like the address that was listed on the State's website, so actually, the information was already "posted on the internet".
And although I feel Lou's pain here, he is not the only victim. It sucks having your wife call you crying doesn't it? Amongst the multiple legal threats that have been sent out by CAP attorney's in the last 2 months to multiple individuals, I have been the recipient of (2), and another email just an hour ago.
Guess what, my wife called me crying when she saw a threatening legal letter saying I was going to be sued for $1.5+ million dollars. I have invested a great deal of my personal savings to start my own business and launch PokerAffiliateListings. Likewise I have worked my ass off to be a leader in the poker affiliate industry for 7+ years.
While I have no ill will against anyone at CAP, and I genuinely feel bad for Lou, he is by far not the only victim here. Lou, Do you think those of us getting constant C&D's and threats from CAP attorneys sleep well at night?
Do you think it is not fucking with my wife's head knowing that if you file a frivelous lawsuit against me or an injunction (which has been threatened) that I will no longer be able to provide for her and my two daughters and that I am going to lose my home, my savings, and everything I have worked 7 years for in this industry.
Personally, I have noting to hide regarding my business, and I have my home address listed in the whois for PAL. The sky is not falling.
This whole mess could have easily avoided in so many different ways. There is not a militia of people out to get CAP. But when bullies threaten EVERYONE else in the industry around, at some point, well, these individuals are going to get fed up, stand up for themselves, and fight back.
