Default Is Assigning Dedicated IP has a positive role for SEO?

I have been using dedicated IPs with my 3 sites along with SSL certificates.

But my Hosting Company told me that there is no ened to assign dedicated IP as their infrastructure uses “SNI” which enables the sites use SSL certificates without Dedicated IPs.

What do you think? Whall I remove the dedicated IPs?

Is any of you using deducated IPs and benefiting from it in terms of SEO?

    Thanks in advance

    Thumbs up

    Hi mate,

This is a little bit tricky.

I think that you should work alongside what they have to offer, which is there SNI infrastructure. That way, you won't have any conflicts with them, plus it is also very secure, as it provides security certificates for your browser's and business which expire in a certain amount of time so that your security is not compromised in any way. Also, the plus side is that these Security Certificates are always renewed. So you have nothing to worry about here

Yes exactly. I agree with you. Key point is the SSL certificate.

    Thanks

Agreed - with a brief history behind what and why you have heard; Yes, SSL, HTTPS are important but not so much the dedicated IP these days. The theory was that a shared server left you open to bad neighbors, whether past, current or future (a spammer buys the domain), but SSL and HTTPS have eliminated this issue/problem, and I think Google saw it going this way all along as they once recomended dedicated IP's (Matt Cutts), but now the problem has been solved server side, with blacklisting and other roadblocks and securing your site...which, go figure, is what is the current flavour of the week for the Google chatty guys like Gary.
