Its official - The event has moved to Barcelona following the industry's feedback -

BAC 2011 will return to the sunny shores of the Spanish coast on the 8th-11th of September 2011. Back by popular demand, Barcelona was picked out of four top European locations by our delegates as their city of choice for the next iGB Affiliate Conference. So put it in your diary, grab a post-it, note it down, ask for a reminder – whatever it takes, but make sure you keep BAC fresh in your mind. It's coming soon. Watch this space.

Good timing, I come back off my holidays on the 7th!!

now the question is do I stay an extra day in Spain and fly direct to Barca from Malaga or do I help the wife and kids get home safely and go from Manchester??

She know's better than that after she came with me to London one time. I was crawling in the hotel room at 3am, tripping over the bin while trying not to wake my 2 year old (at that time).

She saw right through me from all the years when I said conferences are hard work. This when every time she saw me I was in the bar of the hotel chatting with a beer in hand.

The only other conference she saw was the Cancun one, however 9 people doesn't really make for a conference, although the company was great.

And yep our allocation at the Fira Palace (main hotel) is full but we are hoping to get more rooms plus there are alternatives on our site which are very close

My thoughts as well. Need a place where we can all go meet up, and do drinks... some place which kicks us out around 5am is good.
Do we need an official unofficial bar?

We are likely to be getting more rooms so don't panic plus we already have over half of the hotel in our allocation and the people booking via sites such as Expedia so I fully expect us to dominate.....will check hotel bar times but as it's Spain I would be surprised it will close early, Dublin was different as it was the local licencing law not the hotel's decision

Ok, googled it and I "think" the hotel bar opens till 2am but residents can order after this for the group 24/7

I'm sure that with the efforts of a few 'select' people it will appear like we are anyway, so I wouldn't worry about that.
