Best suggestion for website building software?

    Hi to all!

I really need to update the look and feel of my sites and need to really get some brand new software.

Can anybody suggest a really good website building software that is easy to use, makes sites look superb and allows easy input of advanced functionality. I know I am not asking for much lol. But you never know if you don't ask!

    Thanks guys.

I use expression web... Cheaper than alternatives and my only complaint is it's lack of ability to deal with included files (it doesn't recognize the schema, stylesheet, or open tags from included files, like a header or footer. Otherwise, it does a great job and is as easy or as advanced as I've needed.

I didn't realize EW had that drawback Matt, I still haven't gotten around to working with it.

Front Page and Dream Weaver are the other obvious chocices to try as well.

Front Page 2003 is the last released version available and Expression Web is the replacement to that.

With any of those you can find quite a bit of help both here and at the GIA Forum as well as other general webmaster related forums throughout the interent.

Just to clarify - I can include files just fine in EW... The program itself just isn't able to use the data freom the included file for the sake of the CSS and validation tools. More of a pain that I can't believe they haven't addressed rather than a real problem.

But overall, I'm very happy with it... But then again, I started using Interdev back with Visual Studio 5, so I'm familiar with the interface as it has changed over the years. I considered a switch a year or so ago (which can be seen in the archives here) but ultimately happy withmy choice.

I'm using Dreamweaver, but any text editor will do until I make the default templates for the site - the rest is handled by my CMS.
