Anyone have some accurate info on this?

I believe this is the situation: betjamaica has closed and thegreek is still open but not to USA clients. Betjamaica USA clients have been transferred to Heritage and BJ non-usa clients transferred to TheGreek. Obviously BJ affiliates were not informed of this merger / closure (why would they be?!).

Not many left servicing the US market. I can count them on the fingers of both my hands. What a pitty...
Who else is left other than bodog and intertops that you recommend?

Sad news, but not surprising anymore. This has been happening to a lot of programs since Black Friday. Its unbelievable how much things have changed, things were so different this time one year ago. This time last year Casino Coins and Best Casino Partner were converting so well, and things were so much easier. Oh well, I guess it just means taking a different approach, things are still pretty good in my opinion.
Hey Grem, Affactive is my first choice, followed by Mainstreetaffiliates. C-planet is actually doing okay for me this month, but I'm not sure what their situation is at the moment. I hear they are going through a rough period, so I can't safely recommend them to you at the moment. Deckmedia is okay too.

What a friggin shame this is all happening. This is so much worse then what happened in 2006, much worse. My business picked up in 07 man it just increased each year untill Black Friday or what ever it' is called.
RE: what USA books to promote. I can say Wagerweb and Oddsmaker always pay me on time, ALWAYS. I also promote Betonline, I still dont convert with them, but I trust Simon both as a good guy and as someone who knows the online gaming business and if anyone can get a program working it will be Simon.......................IMHO!

The Greek has always been an outstanding book for bettors but never recruited affiliates. They will be missed by a ton of players. BetJamaica was always a rip-off affiliate program in my eyes and while they always paid players they always seemed to skim from affiliates.
No proof, but when you give a book the same exposure as another book and one book gets 25 plus signups a month and the other book says you are sending ZERO than there is a problem lol.
Anyway, this should come as no surprise to anyone. The sports betting industry online is no different than any other industry. Take vegas for example. A new casino pops up and has a "buzz" for 5 years and manages to stay profitable for 10 more years before some big wig decides to either renovate it or pump money into a new, BIGGER casino down the strip.
Nothing lasts forever. You will always have a few indutsry leaders that withstand the test of time(BoDog, for example) but you will always have other former popular brands that run out of steam and can't continue. It's like this in every industry. Remember AOL? Netscape? MySpace? They all had a "buzz" for awhile and crapped out when new, bigger, more innovative brands took over.
Online gambling was relatively "new" a decade ago so tons of brands could pop in and turn a profit like in any "new" industry. However, after awhile the big dogs take over and the little guys can no longer compete. Sure, processing and the US laws plays a part but this would ened up happening no matter what. This industry, contrary to what many believed a couple years ago, is not immune to this cycle.
Sooner or later another new book will pop up and have a "buzz" for a few years before they crap out.

I agree Buddy, I thought NSA added some thoughtful remarks and it is intelligent posts like that really help both newbies as well as seasoned affiliates form opinions and may help them with the direction they may want to take their marketing efforts...

If an affiliate program is not small affiliate friendly (especially small US Affiliate), then they are NOT Affiliate Friendly!

Being in the sports betting industry for over 10 + years there is a few USA excepting programs I would recommend.
1. Intertops
2. Bookmaker " If you can bring in constant players"
3. JustBet
4. BetOnline " These guys are really good and Simon from BetOnline is around here always willing to help or answer any questions you might have "
Here is my Sub Aff link for BetOnline.. Shoot me a PM if you decide to signup, I have a ton of faith in Simon and BetOnline. I will offer you a few PR Links for free if you use my link.

what is it specifically that's making all these affiliates crap out...1 by 1 over the last few months ?
payment processor issues ? pressure from DOJ ? threats from DOJ ?
how come nothing is ever specified....all we hear is "they've closed the doors" or some crap.
enough with all this republican talk, lets get to the point.

Yes payment processing is the main issue. It is almost impossible nowadays to process US action
Regarding payment processing: Would it be possible for U.S. players to use a proxy service (e.g. hidemyass) to fund casino accounts?
As a Canadian, I use hidemyass to access the U.S. version of Netflix (Netflix Canada is terrible) and Hulu. I login to hidemyass and mask my IP so that is appears that I'm in the U.S.
Could an American use something like hidemyass to mask his true location and appear to be located in Canada or Europe?
Perhaps he would have to fund a Moneybookers account (via hidemyass), then use that account to fund a casino account.
Any thoughts?
This would obviously be against the terms of moneybookers who would be very atune to any abuse. Remember the neteller founders were facing life in jail until settling for some astronomical figure with the US authorities (was it maybe $260m or something). Everything has been tried and each loophole has ultimately failed.
I agree (as usual) with nsawins assessment of the business as it relates to US-facing online sportsbooks and the particular regulatory and payment issues those firms are facing now. But it does not really ring true in regulated jurisdictions. For instance in the UK the likes of Ladbrokes, William Hill and Victor Chandler (established 1946) - and many others - have been around forever. They all at least date back to the 1960s or earlier. What happens in these locations is that the firms get acquired or merge rather than close their doors. That means players do not suffer as the database seemlessly migrate to the new platform in a professional manner. In the UK if you think "whatever happened to so and so" the answer is almost always "it was bought by so and so in the year whatever." It is only new companies that never get established that go under in regulated jurisdictions. These are not companies any affiliate in their right mind would be promoting when there are more than 20 huge, honest established companies that can be promoted across Europe. On one note - it has been apparent that when a little company gets into trouble in the UK, a big company usually cleans up the mess and ensures no players lose funds. The reputation of the industry as a whole is too important to the big players to let any punters lose out. One day it will be like this in America, however stupid the USA authorities currently appear - and they currently appear total imbeciles. Regulate and tax - it's all they have to do.
Other than being illegal and willfully breaching UIGEA laws you mean?
It's a lot more than just changing an IP address though ...
As most places (including Moneyboookers) operate under K.Y.C (Know Your Customer) regulations you would also have to have documents that support your residence in that country - Drivers license, Utility Bills are most common.
You'd also need a bank account in that country to fund the moneybookers / casino accounts.

I continue to see BetOnline mentioned in this forum as a "good" book to push......has anyone seen conversions with these guys?
I have spoken to 5 affiliates this past week who all said they are not seeing anything from BOL.
Great question bro. We have seen poor conversions with them as well. It's slow season so we're not totally discouraged yet and are increasing their exposure to see if it yields better returns but they just aren't converting like other brands.
One thing that I don't understand with BetOnline and other books is not even the lack of new depositors but it's the lack of just registrations. You would think more players would at least fill out the registration form and they don't even do that with BetOnline.
I've spoken to one affiliate who says he has about 30 registrations and 12-15 depositors but he has been pushing them for at least 5-6 months and runs a forum so I'm not even sure if those signups were new referalls or just loyal forum readers who signup with any new book that site promoted.
I do find it interesting that we always get affiliate email newsletters from BetOnline talking about how great their conversions are but yet I've yet to find a single affiliate that is really getting a lot of guys converted. Simon is a good guy however so we will continue to hang in there and hope things spike up when football hits.
