Default Betsson key affiliate manager steals € 153.000 commission

Betsson key affiliate manager Christiaan Alexander Van Dalen, 41, appeared in court under arrest before magistrate Charmaine Galea , accused of having used player details to create artificial website traffic in order to inflate his commission.

Inspector Jonathan Ferris told the court that the accused’s role in the company was to strengthen existing client relations. Investigations revealed that the accused had created websites for online casinos and was “retagging” players from Betsson under his name, thereby creating commission for himself.

That might explain why all my Betsson players, including one big depositor, mysteriously dissapeared in the past year. I wonder how Betsson are going to react. Are they going to give all the stolen commission back to where it belongs, the affiliates?

And where there is one ... there is how many ?

This was done on Income Access Affiliate tagging software?
Do all Income Access programs have this re-tagging facility?

Income Access programs rank in lower half of my partner results - without exception.
    Is this problem rife?
Is there a re-tagging audit trail?
Is there anyway to independently audit?

Do affiliates get an automated notification when one of their players is re-tagged?
    If not why not?

This "feature" is a huge can of worms for programs and affiliates

Income Access has been on the record stating that retagging is just not possible with their software.

I would doubt there is a single soft where re-tagging is not possible. Some it's just easier than the others.

Here's one caught, probably by the program. What if a program agrees with re-tagging? Than he would never have been caught... And how many programs are ok with re-tagging? I think quite a bunch.

Agreed totally. I was just posting the holier than thou response they have provided in the past regarding the topic of re-tagging.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I had a big player last year that disappeared this year also.

I'd bet they won't come up with anything else dan "Hey, we're the victim here, you're not affected, so do not bother us with your complaints and just keep on bringing sufficient NDP's so that we've got something to shave, otherwise we'll cut your commission"

They did comment already. I got a mail of one of their employees with a statement that affiliates were not affected. Which is obvious a lie.

He was retagging players, and affiliates were not hurt? Maybe he was tagging only the ones without the tag in the first place? That would make sense. But I doubt big fish would register without an affiliate...

That's their statement indeed. Strange things where happening at Affiliate Lounge and Alex always was a guy that wasn't trusted that much because of this things. I don't believe he just re-tagged "direct" players... Perhaps that's the only part of the fraud Betsson cares about...

Funny I had 3 extreme whales in all my time. One on a well known microgaming and 2 others one on playtech platforms. All three had hude months then "Asked to be self removed due to gambling issues"

Now I did get paid on all of them but it just seems very odd that when you really get something outstanding its somehow "removed"

I always thought re-tagging would not be permitted by the software licenses but I am a bit over trustworthy

I wonder how many affiliates had their accounts closed because they didn't meet a set quota when in fact their players were being stolen.
