Default Beware of Rome Partners : Scam, fraudsters and thieves

I'd like to attract the attention of GPWA about the way this company operates.

We've been promoting RomePartners heavily during nearly one year, with moderate success. During the first months, we earned more than $5,000 in a month but the next months, despite the fact we kept sending them more and more players, our revenues never reached that amount again. Despite that, we continued to promote them as their affiliate manager gave us a good deal (which wasn't so good after all since when we gave first positions to another operator, our revenues skyrocketed).

These last months, we've been receiving lots of complaints via email from players who were having trouble getting paid by Top Game casinos. Since we had a good relationship with their affiliate manager, we contacted him and explained him we were worried for the players and how paying them on time could only help their business to grow. But nothing changed, and we continued to receive more and more complaints from players on our mailbox.

To protect the reputation of our casino portal, we had to remove their casinos from our top 5 listings, something which we explained to our affiliate manager. But he didn't want to listen, and said he would give us an even better deal than we had to get the top positions again. Again, we explained via email we couldn't do that before the payment issues were solved, as it wasn't fair for players and would harm our site's reputation.

Things went out of hand when we launched the new version of our casino portal. We added a forum, and after only a few days, many complaints regarding one of their brands (Grand Luxe) were posted in our casino complaints section. We tried to resolve these issues by contacting Top Game's support team. Someone named NicoTG (from Top Game) replied to one complaint, which was partially solved. Then he stopped responding publicly but the players who had posted their issues publicly on our forum got quick replies from Top Game and their problems were finally solved (sometimes after more than 6 months of being ignored by Top Game reps or getting generic replies).

We did our best to solve these issues and sent an email to Top Game support (for Casino Grand Luxe) encouraging them to pay the players what was due and to reply to the complaints to preserve what was left of their reputation. But we didn't get any reply to our emails, nor the complaints on the forum. So we had to place a warning on our Top Game casinos reviews and added them to our blacklist page with a note explaining why.

All this time, we got harassed by email by Rome Partners' affiliate manager who wanted to have our phone number, desperately trying to get us to put their sites back on the top positions, and promising a better deal than ever. We didn't bother reply as we felt harassed and were focusing on helping the players to get payments that were long overdue (up to 8 months for some players).

But the best had yet to come: this morning, I try to connect to our RomePartners account but it says the username doesn't exist. These scammers simply deleted our affiliate account without warning! They didn't owe us much since we hadn't been promoting them on the first positions for some months, but still it's more than $1000 for March-April.

So I'm asking a GPWA official to look into that issue, and hopefully ban these scammers from the site once and for all.

More of the same old business practices that have been exposed in the past. Looking forward to Rome's reply on this issue.

The affiliate manager mentioned in Phil's post has asked me to post his response:

    Hello All

I am Jerome and I am responsible for the french market at Rome Partners. I am in charge of Pheal's Account and I am shocked at what this affiliate wrote about the company and about myself. You deserve honesty and I personally will send this answer directly to Pheal via GPWA (I sent him a quick answer in French in his own email).

Regarding the complaints about players, the support solved one by one of the few complaint that Pheal received and ALL were treated. Regarding the forum, I personally contact you to ask you to give me the ID of your players and except one time you gave me the ID I had to check your forum myself because you didn't commit any effort to answer my email. You write that "We tried to resolve these issues by contacting Top Game's support team" - This is false. You never contacted us and I personally contacted you to help your players.

You write that "But we didn't get any reply to our emails, nor the complaints on the forum" - Again false. I sent you many emails and you never ever made any efforts to answer me. The only way to get information about the ID of your players was to check your forum. Only one time on March 25, you gave me the ID and from that date you didn't answer my emails. No later that this morning I sent you an email telling you that all players were paid.

You write that "we got harassed by email by Rome Partners' affiliate manager". Is it normal that an affiliate who wanted to work closely with us does not answer 9 of my emails? If you had answered my previous emails, I wouldn't have sent you so so many following emails. I contacted you many times in order to help you with your players. I have a professional conscience and Affiliates who know me can testify to that fact.

I didn't harass you to be back on your website, I merely tried solve your players' problems and all the team helped. My job consists on giving service to affiliates as best that I can. The most surprising thing about this is that you told me, via email, that I was the best affiliate manager that you ever worked with. There is a huge difference between what you wrote about me in GPWA Thread and what you wrote to me in person.

Regarding the account - it was not closed and it is still working. Why didn't you contact me regarding your account? My job is to work closely with the affiliates as well as to be proactive. My job is does not constitute just waiting for players to come. I have been doing this job for 7 years and I know perfectly what it means to be an affiliate because I was an affiliate myself in the past.

I am willing to speak with you and I hope to get an answer after almost one month in which you did not take the time to answer my emails.

    Best regards,

    Jerome

Hi Jerome! Regarding the players ID, only one player didn't mention his ID on the forum post. I tried to contact him to get his player ID but he never replied, so I closed the complaint.

I sent two mails directly to Casino Grand Luxe support pointing to the player complaints (which included their ID) on the forum and never got a reply. I wanted to verify if what the players were saying was true: that Casino Grand Luxe email support was unresponsive. I have proof of these two emails that were sent, I can publish them here if needed. I didn't write to you, Jerome, because it's the Casino Grand Luxe support who's supposed to take care of players' withdrawal problems.

When I told you were a great affiliate manager some months ago, I believed it was true and still do. But I've got tired of seeing these players complaints not being solved by your company. Instead of telling me something was being done to pay players these last two months, you only wrote me to ask me to put your sites back on the top sites. Who in their right mind would do that when there are so many complaints coming from the players? That's not only harming the players, but also our site's reputation.

And yes, I didn't reply during one month to your emails because not only was I on holidays, but your inquiries were not about helping players but about putting Top Game casinos back on the top lists. I understand that you're defending your company, but it's just common sense you don't promote a product when there are so many complaints about it.

But what the heck, should I even defend myself in that regard? Or should I post links to the many complaints players are posting about not getting paid and just being ignored, not only on our newly created forum, but across various American and European forums/portals?

Yes, you did something for the players who complained recently and I appreciate that, but everyday more players send me emails and post on the forums regarding issues with your brands.

All I ask now is for you to respect my position and pay me what I'm owed, and don't do tricks like blocking my affiliate account to force me into a discussion I don't want to have. Maybe in the future if we stop getting complaints from players we will put your sites back on our lists, but this has been going for a long time and I doubt it will be solved soon. I know it's not your fault Jerome, but you have to understand my position.

    From Jerome,

    Phil,

First of all, as I asked you in my email, sent last week, I don't understand how can you publish a "complaint" of a player which does not give his ID. Does it mean that everybody can write and create bad press for casinos (that they don't like) in your forum without giving an ID? Before publishing a complaint of a player, it would be better to be sure for 100% that it is a real player, and not false players or one player using different names.

Regarding my job, I am the direct contact between the affiliate department and support and I sent you many emails asking you to give me the ID in order to solve this matter quickly. Four players (and not a hundred players) had some problems with payments. We paid them and I informed you of this by email.

Before your new version of your website, did you send me complaints about players? The answer is no. Since you have a forum - meaning 1 month, the support paid the 4 players who wrote in your forum. That's it. You write "but everyday more players send me emails and post on the forums regarding issues with your brands": can you send me in my professional email all the list of such forums and I will personally be in charge of this matter and to resolve it.

I understand your position but an affiliate manager is not paid to harass affiliates. I know that affiliates have a lot of work in many differents sectors (casino, poker, binary options, forex, etc) and my goal is to service the affiliates. And so, when there is a problem with players, I must intervene in order to understand the situation and to solve it. I think that you should respect the affiliate manager's position and you should answer me and not let me carry on with my monologues (which is what you claim was me harrassing you).

Regarding your revenue, you will be paid as usual on time. I am a bit saddened that you felt the need to go through GPWA to explain your situation instead of sending me an email directly. I hope that this case is closed and I look forward to continuing working with you. And please don't worry I will not harass you.

    Regards,

    Jerome

Moderators, could you please delete this thread? I'd like to solve this issue in private with Rome Partners. Thanks.
