Boylesports affiliates implement negative carryover ?

    Hi colleagues,
    Anyone received such message :

    Dear Affiliate,
Following some suspicious betting behaviour on certain accounts our security department have undertaken a review of our affiliate relationships. Based on our findings I am informing you that as per the terms and conditions of our affiliate program we will be implementing negative carryover effective from the next payment we make to you.
On this basis, you should be aware that your stats within the Net Refer system may not be accurate. If you wish to confirm anything regarding your stats or the status of your affiliate account please contact our affiliate team.
    Best regards,
    The Boylesports Affiliate Team

Do you have idea why Boylesports introducing the negative balances.

I heard that RDoyle is not longer working with them anymore ?

    Any thoughts ?

Yes I received this email from them as well.

I think that the "suspicious behaviour" is simply that you have players that win and take your totals into negatives in some months - certainly that's the case for us.

I don't think I would want to promote anyone that thinks winning is "suspicious behaviour".....

It just wouldn't make me feel comfortable as a player after reading that....

Geez, I backed the winning team so I must be "suspicious"....?????

I have not received this email yet and I was going to push them harder. This under-the-counter change of terms (and at the moment just for some affiliates it seems) does not auger well. Can't stand programs changing the rules after the game has begun.

I have just received the email that this policy is now official rather than just "under the counter". Not good. Email below:

    Dear Affiliate,

In recent months we have undertaken an in-depth review of the Boylesports.com Affiliate Program. Our objective is to provide an affiliate program which is both mutually beneficial and sustainable over the long term for Boylesports as a business and you as our affiliate partner. Following our review we write to inform you that we have reached a decision that will see us implement negative carryover for all affiliates. Accordingly we must inform you that negative carryover will be implemented on your affiliate account effective July 1st 2012. At this time we would also encourage you to familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions of our Affiliate Program on Affiliates.Boylesports.com.

We trust you will understand our decision has been made to ensure the long term sustainability of our affiliate program. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the affiliate team.

    Best Regards,
    The Boylesports Affiliate Team

RIP Boylesports - You were fun while ya lasted.

Though to be honest, their programs a bit of a joke anyway. I was meant to have a meeting with Raymond at Lac back in January and he completely messed me about like you wouldn't believe. Every excuse going on the day for running late, next thing I rang him and he was at airport flying back to Ireland........

I have exchanged emails with Maria McDonnell and it really seemed Boylesports were improving. She has been so helpful and responsive and sorted out a particular issue that Raymond just ignored for years. I was just about to give them a push and then this happens. For me, it is not so much the fact of the negative carryover, it is the retrospective change of terms that sets the alarm bells going. If a firm can make a major retrospective change to this degree then anything is possible and do you want to send a bunch of players to a firm like that. Firms that do this are the sort to start tampering with the lifetime clause to 36 months or worse or to introduce other tariffs. It is an indicator of how the management view affiliates.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

Rest assured we are taking on board what you are saying. I understand that it does not display a great trust in our brand but unfortunately it is out of our hands. Your feedback is much appreciated.

I don`t think bombarding them with emails is going to make them change their minds!

They obviously have little regard for their affiliates by making the decision in the first place!

Boylesports are a bookmaker that i don`t push very hard on my site anyhow as they "Limit" the stakes of punters to less than £1 after a couple of bets if they follow tipsters like Hugh Taylor of Attheraces.....or if they are showing half a clue about "value" prices.

it isn't about making them change their minds, it's about making them realise that affiliates aren't happy about moving the goalposts after kick off and hopefully they'll think twice about offer stuff in the future.

    you crack on though

I think protesting about anything in life is always worthwhile. Our governments are a prime example ( both in the uK, and the USA). They're all bought and paid for by corporations, and if the people didn't protest what was important, we'd all be living in a barren wasteland owned and run by corporate interests setting about raping the planet and the general public.

    Always protest. Always moan.
