It is very strange living in the UK to hear that you have so much debate and court hearings about gambling in the US.

As long as you are 18 or over, you are pretty much free to gamble wherever you want to,including online.

The DOJ statement is not the end all for our troubles. It is the beginning of a resolution.
I agree with this analysis. For those who subscribe to the theory that brick and mortars lobbied to drive out Party Poker and other operators in order to wipe out competition before having the same government (mafia) used to do this turn around and magically "regulate" the market by granting operation privilege via license; this announcement just fits the timeline.

It is not that much of a revelation or a game changer. However, it is a first step toward opening the door to "regulation". It's a signal that they are moving toward regulation.

I felt perfectly safe playing at Party Poker before the UIGEA, it wasn't until the government thugs got involved that it got real shady. Leave it to government to create a crisis so it can "solve" it. They do it for the children, you know. I digress.

I'm looking for regulation in 2012/2013.

I think you could be right when you say it could be the first step toward opening the door to "regulation"!!!!

Our government in the UK is very tolerant towards gambling!

It is strange that 2 governments could have 2 totally different views towards gambling!

It sounds like in the US the majority are been dealt with unfairly!!!

Sorry to go totally OT, but do you have to have all that great mass of spam crap in your signature? It's not like it's going to fool the serps one iota.

    @Freebetsuk7
    Your wrong.
Not 'everyone' uses spammy (and in your case ugly) links in their signature... just those without a clue.

    Toolbar PR isn't everything.....

....and b ytheway, most people who post here on a regular basis, do NOT do so because of the sig links....it is just a bonus....

Let's get this thread back on track....the subject is NOT about sig links.

"Only sportsbetting violates wire act",there is no doubt that different people holds different views,i hope that this will lead to federal regulation for online gaming in the US but even if it's just on a state level I'm fine with that too, just as the upstairs,LuckyLizzy said.

In fact, not everyone is suited to gambling, to become a professional gambler winning long-term, in fact, very, very difficult. Most difficult to place, not technology, but rather the psychological weakness of human nature.

You must have a strong self-control, patience, perseverance, but also to have a cool head always remain sober.
