Brilliant! IGB asks affiliates and operators where to go!

Got an email from Alex yesterday asking for our input on where to hold the September affiliate conference. They have set up a 30 second survey for us to do. (actually less than 30 seconds.)

Take a moment and vote here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QCL6RM2

    Mail received:
Apologies for emailing you out of the blue however I am hoping you can help us with a question regarding our September event the Budapest Affiliate Conference.
We are considering the possibility of changing the location from Budapest this year but wanted to make that decision based on our audience of operators and affiliates so if you could take just 30 seconds to complete this survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QCL6RM2 I would really appreciate it as it will genuinely make a difference to the decision to move and indeed the new location which as you can see is limited due to availability.
    Thanks very much in advance
    Alex
Personally I would love to go to Milan Italy in September (so would the Mrs). Other choices are to keep it in Budapest, Barcelona (please no, been mugged there already) and Krakow Poland (is there anything there?).

I voted for Krakow or Milan. I just got back from Warsaw and it was a cool city, so would be nice to see Krakow. Milan is great, but I think everything would be crazy expensive. As for the other 2, Budapest has been done enough and Barcelona is nice, but after all the safety issues last time I think it might not be the best choice. Frankly I think there need to be more WARM places though.

I filled out the survey too, and selected them all.. they are all good locations.

I didn't even think of the safety for Barcelona but I thought that conference was great.

I also think Milan would be expensive, and am curious how it will go with the laws there being like they are, but of course I'd love to visit the place.
The other two for the same reasons - I'd just love to visit. Budapest is pretty much my favourite city in the world, so no need to explain why I chose it.

Speaking of warm, I'd love to see a show go to Athens. There is just something about that place that is amazing. The vibe is awesome. Not to mention they could sure do with our euros being spent there, and since they are in the process of legalisation, what better option could there be?

Thanks for helping - We have had over 1,200 votes!! Amazing response rate so thanks v much....Giving it a few more days and will then publish results, although there are two clear leaders.....

If people are wondering why a move - Basically like Graham also said we had feedback that people felt we have "done" Budapest and a move would freshen things up....Problem is at this stage there isn't many available option hence the short list....depending on where we go an how it goes we may well move again for 2012

Personally I would just like the US to open so we can go to Vegas!!!

Wouldn't that be great? No transatlantic flight for the US/CA group.

I think even if it did open up, many ops would hesitate to come to the states due to the history of the feds snatching people as they enter.

How about Toronto, Vancouver, or some other Canadian city? Montreal, Quebec City, etc.

Ya Canada would be awesome... also somewhere like South Africa would be interesting, or even Argentina (though I am biased on that one)

    I voted to keep Budapest.

Failing that, Barcelona is second choice.

    Then Milan.

If it's in Poland, I won't be. Please, not that one.

I voted for Budapest too! Why change something perfect?

Regarding Athens, it would be wise to wait until the market gets regulated and the licenses are issued and then organize a conference in Greece...

    Voted Budapest here also,

Milan would be too expensive, I would be surprised If that gets the nod, I would suggest anyone voting for Milan check out the costs of staying there.

The further east you go the colder it gets and in September the weather will be dropping all the time in Poland.

The only other option was Barcelona and Barcelona in September is like being the last one in line in a gang bang, Barcelona needs to be done in the summer for it to be fully enjoyable.

In the absence of a bigger choice I therefore vote for Budapest.

I understand that it is difficult to rent out huge halls for conferences, but it is hard to fathom that of all the countries in Europe we are left with just four to choose from.

Southern Europe, especially in September would be the better choice, Malta, Spain's Costa Del Sol (imagine that hey). The Algarve in Portugal, even Tenerife and Cyprus.

Personally reckon London in September would be better and Spain or Malta in January, much better weather for both locations than it currently is.

Renting huge halls etc in September in Southern Europe should not present too much difficulty, so many hotels and the summer season is over.

Finally, I am all for conferences in South Africa, The Bahamas, Brazil, Mexico, India and even Thailand, Europe once a year I think is enough, not sure we need two, more exotic choices would be far better, especially when people are spending significant amounts anyway to attend conferences, at least give them beaches and cheep beer.

If all that fails then permanently in Amsterdam, but that is a problem I know

Anyway just my 2 cents worth.

Yes, Milan is expensive. It's also really not cracked up to much as destinations go. I've only been once, for a day or so, but was underwhelmed.

Barcelona is a great alternative, if such there must be.

It would be awesome if the conferences were in vegas again.. it would mean much cheaper everything for us.. flights, exchange rate, accommodation etc. We may actually be able to get to more of them.

I voted Barcelone for the selfish reason that I love the city!

Budapest was great but I agree, it's been done.

Very much looking forward to Vegas one day!
