    Default Casino ratings from players

    Hi guys,

I've been thinking about adding a player's rating feature to my casino reviews, which wouldn't require a creation of an account and could be done "on the fly".
To get past someone spamming with countless ratings I would allow 1 vote per IP for example.

Has anyone done anything similar or knows of a plugin which does anything like that?

In general I find people who rate things mainly do so when they have had a negative experience, so I do not think this would provide an accurate representation of a casino. However if you do want to give it a shot I used to use "WP Customer Reviews" and found it to be pretty good.

Yeah I've had a similar experience. Unless your site has a big community (think ask gamblers, casinomeister, whichbingo etc..) then you're mainly going to get people who have had a bad experience and want to vent. Plus the odd shill from dodgier casino groups.
onlinegamblingwebsites.com - Formally known as goodbonusguide.
baldidiot.net - Baldys affiliate blog. Will get updated one day. Maybe.

many sites have done it .. in the end they just paid others to upvote certain brands otherwise they would never get any conversions.

Aside from what others have said, I'd be careful blocking by IP.

If done wrong, you could be blocking others that might fall into the same IP pool.

I think you should not do that, because I nagative customer prefer to vote than the optimistic customer. The worse case you compititor will vote it

Good answers. That was also one of my concerns - that most votes come from players with negative experience.

So in your opinion in this case (unless I gather a really big community) it would be better to not have customer reviews?

Either you are too small and you need to fake it.
Or you are too big and on one side you get the votes of the angry ones and from the bookies who really have no problem to use VPN or some more advanced methods.

The reviews are a disaster. Trustpilot is a joke.

Slightly better results would/ be / are votes from customers who PAY and who pay repeatedly. Like at booking.com. But since I sleep just in hotels, even those ratings are very non-accurate. There is no normal distribution, so the votes are skewed towards 10. But worse off: the cheap and therefore worse accommodation always has a lot of bonus points when compared to more expensive one. Because people do not expect that much or because simply most people have no money so they do not know better. Also people are often rating just shortly after they leave the host and they often return back and they do not want to leave bad rating etc.

Similarly at Uber, average rating is not 3 or 4, but depending on country between 4.7 to 4.9. And one drunk customer pressing 1 can ruin it way too much.

Ratings from users were a good idea, but it is a nonsense. Yes people probably demand it, so better if you write it there than random internet mob. As for hotels, I stick to ***** rating of experts. This is typical how nice democratical ideas fail short.
We are all bloodsucking ticks, hungry, devious
each one latched on to the ass of the previous
when the last and the first latch on it can be shown
ass-blood sucked by the first from the last is his own
