Sadly, DDos attacks will always be at least somewhat effective, although the ways to combat them now are better than in the past.
Certainly agree Rick. These people tend to catch others with their pants down. When the bandwidth starts spiking to the stratosphere I would likely just unplug.

Anyway does anyone know the current status over at CM? I am somewhat curious who did it.

    Are we under attack?

Is any other web site having the same problem?

We had a problem with www.gambling-gazette.com last week, at first we thought it was a virus and then reinstall the server again. It was estrange that the AV software didn't detect it.

Today I'm having the same issue, I can't access the website right now.

I heard that http://www.onlinecasinoreviewer.com/ was under attack also.

    Thanks,

    Diana

The online Players Union was down due to a ddos attack this morning. Thanks to our outstanding server team we were back up quickly.

This is no virus, this is someone attacking outspoken portals in the industry. The methods used are the same for the three portals, Casinomeister, Onlinecasinoreviewer and the OPU.

If no demands for money have been made then it is a vindictive attack

The cynics among us can i am sure see the common denominator here

For the moment, it may be best to not discuss this...let those involved sort things out in a way that won't be detrimental to the situation.

    Agd

Just as an FYI - The AGD issue was not related to a DDOS attack It was related to a server update performed last week on the Nameserver. The server team had to 'roll back' changes on the Nameserver to stop the issue.

The Nameservers are now parked at Godaddy, so this won't be a problem in the future. I had left the nameservers at the old AGD server to keep from having AGD go down for days while the old registrar took it's sweet time transferring out the domain (transferred all my registered domains to Godaddy for simplicity).

Anyway.... long story short... that problem is solved And, thankfully, it was not an attack that caused it.

    Well personally,

If in fact there is a common denominator in these attacks, I would like to know the ip's where these attacks are originating so that collectivly we can help all those who fall victim to this latest round.

If anyone has this information, I would appreciate a pm or email with that info.

CM is half up and running the good news. I would be curious same as Rick.

I suppose Toronto would be a good starting point. You boys over there certainly may have crossed a few boundaries. (warning last sentence is cryptic)

Nothing more to say about the matter....

It's time for another psycho video cause people seem to believe that jackpotsheaven is behind it so if they take the responsibility for it they can become one of the most well known outfits in Costa Rica with an image of the ultimate gangster casino.

From what I know I doubt the hacker will be caught and I don't think it's a good idea for anyone to put forth a suspect without proof, but I'd say that Bryan pissed on the wrong hydrant and is now being annoyed with ddos attacks. Hopefully his site is hack-proof now and everyone can move on with business as usual.

Having been a victim of ddos attacks before it is not nice at all, when it happened to me they demanded money, they alson did it to quite a few other websites at the same time.

I never paid a penny but some did and that just fuels them up to attack more websites,

Hopefully no money was demanded in this case and if it was none has been paid.

THat siad if it was a vindictive attck that is worrying because it emans money is not their motivation, revenge is

And revenge can be far more addictive than money

Point of note: no money was demanded, or paid. I guess some people will pay if it's hurting a lot but as you say, this just fuels the fire. The Brit government policy of not paying ransoms for kidnaps must be really hard to take if it's one of yours, but is ultimately the right policy for saving others.
