    Default Chernobyl (2019) | HBO

This is HBO production. This is US serial. And i may confirm that this serial is very realistic and very hight quality. I am born in USSR, and i am very well remember this windy and rainy days at the end of April 1986 and a sense of horror, lack of information, iodine grids e.t.c. The serial is very professional recreate these tragic days. All details - food, clothes, streets - is very very realistic. Our world is very fragile.

This is interesting to watch and it’s very sad really because even until now, there are still a lot of unfortunate people who have cancer and are suffering the ill effects of all that horrible radiation that remains in the air as a result of that nuclear accident. Just tragic

A friend of mine lived in England at the time this happened, and she had a number of stories about the "cloud" that moved over them. She and a lot of her friends that lived in the same area ended up getting cancer.

Fortunately for her she moved to the US and she later went through a number of chemo treatments and has been cancer free for many years now.

Watched it, and it's really very realistic. Hopefully, it will not happen anywhere anymore!

My grandma was working in a office of car manufacturer that was exporting to USSR. 2 people from there were on business trip near the site during the incident. They were young and died in less than 2 years for cancer.

Maybe the effects were even bigger. Maybe the effects of other smaller incidents are much bigger. Who knows.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goi%C3%A2nia_accident is a classic tragicomedy about human idiocy. I imagine it was something like: "Hey look, here is something very strange that is shining -> "Oh wow, let's do bodypainting". Happened 1 year after Chernobyl.
We are all bloodsucking ticks, hungry, devious
each one latched on to the ass of the previous
when the last and the first latch on it can be shown
ass-blood sucked by the first from the last is his own

Agree, it's a fantastic series, it was done very well. I found it hard to shake off the horror/harrowing feeling for a while after. Real life horror.

I've been meaning to watch this since it came out but haven't been home enough to do so. Just put it on series record so once all of the episodes have been recorded I will begin a binge fest.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

It needed more action, too many boring conversations.
Also loled when they showed plastic windows in Lithuania when they only started appearing after like 1995.

Yes, but i think is impossible to follow all small details. But most small details is OK.

For example, first scene, kitchen. I may confirm 100% that the most items in the kitchen is made in USSR. In my kitchen in Russia i have the same items. The same i mean 100% absolutely the same.

Home design - 100% the same as in USSR. Maybe except this windows. School uniforms, buses - the same.

    Hats off for HBO Productions.

Yeah, they did a good job with most of the stuff since one Lithuanian helped them out a lot. Withour her it would have been full of mistakes.
I've also read that a previous Acting President of Lithuanian Arturas Paulauskas helped them a lot of their final court scene. Since he used to be a procurator and investigator, he was also a Prosecutor General. My parent used to work in his now disolved policital party headquarters in my hometown so I have several pictures with him.
