Can anyone recommend any content writing companies? How much should I pay for decent copy?

I've hired a bunch off Craigslist - I find I get much more unique articles and they cost less than 3 cents per word.

For a professional writer - I've found about 5 cents in the going rate - about $25 for a 500 word article.

Thanks guys. Anyone had any experience of Indian copywriters? There seems to be a lot of companies offering services there. I suppose it partly depends on how interesting the topics I can come up with are and in briefing the writers adequately as to what I need in terms of keywords etc.

Yes, my experience of Indian writers is poor. They offer incredibly cheap rates for a reason.

Most of the stuff I received was unusable. It was padded out with some of the worst waffle I had ever come across.

eg: "Roulette is taking the world by storm, this fun and interesting game is a great way to relax and enjoy time with your friends"

Please!!!

I should also mention that I have found very few with a good grasp of grammer or common use phases.

The best price I have for a UK writer is $7.5 per article, but that is based on a long standing relationship.

Have you tried requesting from major article directory submission site like articlecity.com. What I know is that some offers such services and their writers are true professional.

Hey raphnix. I hadn't heard of that site but it certainly does have a lot of decent articles on it. I will investigate for sure.

With content writers is it safe to assume the content will be unique? I worry that they just have say, half a dozen versions of each article and will send me one of those.

To reiterate Marlene's post:

The content we write is 100% unique and I invite anyone to put it to the copyscape premium test.

The AllStar Web Content site is relatively new. We have another following behind that.

We certainly do not charge $25.00 per article, but the work is good and we are highly rated on a couple of sites for our writing abilities.

A very short portfolio is on the site, but it's no where near complete. I have each one linked to the location on the net where the articles is located where possible. There are some however that do not want any indication that anyone other than themselves provided the content for one reason or another, and so I cannot provide links to those.

Also, anyone want quality posts to kick start your forum or blog, we'll do that too. We've written articles on everything from diverse investing sectors to propane tanks to weddings, and there's almost no project I won't take on, so if you want good unique work at quality prices, I think we're worth at least a look
