    Converting Sports Bettors

I am getting a ton of clicks (>400) - but no new signups. I have been writing a lot of topical articles/ upcoming events with the latest odds with call to actions.

Perhaps this is not the best strategy?

Does anyone have any tips on the best ways to conver sports bettors?

Die-hard sports bettors like to bet when they think that they have an angle and good odds ... which makes many casino games a hard thing to sell to odds-savvy players.

But one thing that I've noticed is that many sports punters seem to think that they can play blackjack well enough to give it a go at the casino.

    UPDATE :
Oh and the easierst way to sell to a sports punter is to cross-sell them into the local casinos at the same sportsbook that they've already joined. They know the brand already, they may not even need to do any money transfer - thus removing two big barriers to entry.

All you have to do is provide content and an offer to "tease" the player into giving it a go.

    Thanks for the response Gooner.

There are some solid tips in there. One thing I am having trouble with though is signing them up to the sportsbooks themselves. I am getting tons of clicks - but they don't seem to be signing up. I don't think I am targeting the right type of people or something...

The thing is Hazo - you have to look at who you are attracting to your site. If it's sports bettors looking for tips and previews, then they may already have accounts with many of the sites you are pushing.

You have to be a little bit cunning with these players and push them towards sites they may be haven't thought of. IE: If they already bet at Will Hill, Bet365, Ladbrokes and Chandlers, then may throw Betsson or even BlueSQ into the mix and sell the benefits of having accounts there as well.
