Default Curacao License as of today Does NOT COVER Players from Neitherlands

    Hello Affiliates

As of today all online casino sites have to block all players from the Netherlands if they operate under a Curacao online gambling license.

If you are an affiliate dealing in the Netherlands marketplace and you have to find a new home for your players we can accept your players

Panther Casino offers all GPWA affiliates a Flat 45% Commission with NO Monthly Qualifying and we ..."PAY" WEEKLY as soon as the player's roll over has completed.

    Cheers

    Hi Shay

Please see my source below i am still on the affiliate mailing list

    Cheers

Please note, as of today we can no longer accept players from the Netherlands. This is due to our license being held in Curacao, which is a Dutch territory and the Netherlands government will no longer allow marketing to the Netherlands.

Please note, we still accept players from the majority of countries, including the US. Only the following countries are banned:
Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Canada, Cayman Islands, Estonia, Guam, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, South Africa and Singapore
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

    Keep Well,
    Scott Nash

Indeed this has been announced in a few places. And it makes sense when you understand the background.

Curacao is a part of the "Kingdom of the Netherlands" still - even if it is administered autonomously - and it cannot be ignoring the Netherlands online gaming stance for within the Netherlands.

see the Wikipedia article of an outline - it's a wee biut complicated - but there is still a tight relationship between the old islands of the Netherlands Antillies (which has now been disbanded) and the Netherlands.

Yes, you're right. However that was the case since the beginning. What changed that?

If you look hard enough, you'll see a lot of sites in the affiliate world, which are targeted towards the UK, and the brands being promoted, are not licenced by UK gaming commission, and the licence in question is nearly always Curaco! The penalty for this is up to 50 weeks in jail and a 20,000 fine, as it breaches the gambling act, and the brand is looked upon by the UK as not being licensed, and the person and/or company is held responsible for publishing it by the UK governement.

MMM - the money stream for Curacao from online gaming and licensing is significant so the Netherlands administration has taken a slow approach to getting this anomaly into line - not wanting to destabilize the Curacao economy. But this is now bring enforced.

Lowrisk - The UK government cannot reach into Curacao - which is why Curacao licensees flout the UK law - it seems the same approach is taken with the US as well.

On the other hand - some of those countries on the list that are banned are real WTF? moments ...
Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Canada, Cayman Islands, Estonia, Guam, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, South Africa and Singapore

I can assume that Afghanistan and Azerbaijan are just bad risks / terror countries and so just want to be avoided ...

But Canada? South Africa? Singapore? what makes licensees follow their rules and not the UK and/or US?
I can only assume its ties to a home country.

As as for Guam, Estonia, Cayman Islands ... really? Just a WTF! moment?

Sometimes it's hard to make sense of who is in and who is out.

It isn't an issue of the licensees getting in trouble, I mean the affiliates (who may be based in the UK), breaking UK law, by promoting a brand licenced in Curaco.

I get what you mean with regards to the governments not being able to "reach into" these territories, which I understand is the reason why many affiliates still get away with working in "grey" territories, such as Australia

    Maybe because
    Guam - is US Territory.
Cayman Islands - is UK Territory.

Estonia - online gambling is legal in Estonia, but operator must have estonian license.

Afghanistan = terror target while Azerbaidjan = bad risk??
But Syria, North Korea, Iraq, Pakistan etc would all be on the same US lists.

WTF? Who knows why countries are put on lists.

Guam / Cayman Islands maybe because of ownership - but then why accept UK and US players from mainland?
Estonia - exactly the same rules as UK, Spain, Greece, Italy, France ... so why only Estonia law respected?

    As I say WTF?

I just wonder if it's a "Gentleman's agreement" within the islands to not target locals.

Hefty fine but good enforcement, as it will help clean up a lot of dubious operations in the market.

Plenty of operators still taking Dutch traffic despite not having a license. However as the Dutch government is starting to begin the legal process to licensing for online gambling, most operators will stop all activity so that they can get a license with little problems.

Technically, unless the brand you are promoting is one of the legal online lotteries / has a state license you should not be promoting any brands to Dutch traffic regardless of a Curacao, Maltesee or any other license.

also, since we are on the subject of license, I had a look at the Panther Casino site which says it has a "Costa Rica License", my understanding is that their is no such thing? Happy to corrected

Well, their translation of a court case is quite free...

If the casino website is not having its site in Dutch, not showing the iDEAL sign or any Dutch flags, Dutch government won't bother them. See f.e. Polder Casino, Kroon Casino, Oranje Casino, etc..

With all due respect, may I ask, how do you accept players from USA, Turkey and other EU countries if you hold a UK license?
