Question Do you have videos on your websites?

This past week the APCW aired the 250th Perspectives Weekly video. You can see it on the APCW Website at www.APCW.org on in the GPWA forums in the thread Milestones and Setbacks: APCW Perspectives Weekly 29 July 2011.

That got me to wondering how may folks use videos on their websites. And how many of those who do use videos create their own custom videos. And if you don't have any videos on your website, do you think you will in the future? Share your thoughts on videos with the rest of us. What sort of videos do you have, if any. What type of videos do you think are most worthwhile? Is it worth the effort?

Any by the way, anyone who might want to use the APCW videos on their website can do so by becoming an APCW web partner. Details are available on the page Webmaster Video Feed. There are over 100 webmasters that have taken advantage of the APCW web partner program and are recognized with links back to their website.

Yep, I've been using the illustrious J. Todd vids for quite awhile now. Was probably one of the first webmasters to implement the auto-feed of the "APCW Webmaster Video Feed". The page already has a PR2 rank and gets quite a few hits each week here APCW Perspectives Weekly Videos.

On another note though, Michael...I would like to see the auto-feed update a little bit quicker than what it does now. I have to hit Todd up every so often to let him know that the feed has not updated yet but sometimes I think there is a lag on the time it takes you guys to approve his vids first.

Just sayin, if it is possible to get the auto-feed sped up in the approval process a little.

    Good poll by the way!

Yes, I used fiverr.com and found this video pro who created 10 videos as per my instructions. He does a great job at 3 videos/$5. He also helped me set up a YouTube channel that is bringing traffic to my site. Some of the videos are at the site. A small investment that is paying dividends with the
added benefit that I learned something new--always a good thing!

I've never posted videos on my site but I do plan to in the future. Mostly going to try this out for sports betting purposes. Creating a marketing video or some sort of personalized video to greet people to my site.

Ok, here's my report as detailed in my webmasters forum.
Realizing that videos are the way to go and not having a clue about making videos or the time to learn, I turned to my favorite web services site fiverr.com for some inexpensive assistance.
I found Markp who will create 3 videos about your niche for $5 and I'm glad I did. He not only created 10 videos at least 2 minutes in length each, but uploaded them to my You Tube channel completing the promotional Title, link to site, description and keywords, while I learned along the way with him--all for only $20. mark's customer satisfaction policy is awesome and he goes the extra mile.
I had to do some of the work and I suggest you take the time to 'blueprint' your videos before submitting. Mark asks that you contact him first before payment.
I went through the site and decided which areas I wanted to promote. I put together a title and description that would grab attention highlighting the benefits to visitors.
Using the description, Mark could then determine which messages would be seen on the video. "Find out about the top 10 sports", for example.
You should place a clickable link at the beginning of your YouTube description, but I went a step further and all links were to specific Tier 2 pages, so sports video went to the sports intro page, etc. Further, I placed each video at the page linked to as an introduction for that section.
I also submitted specific keywords, mostly phrases because games is a large niche and you won't get noticed with words like poker, slots or baseball.
Most important, IMO are the images for they tell the tale in a short introductury video. I gave Mark specific images I wanted for each video and a link to the page, even down to the main image seen when viewing the video. The music is important and I specified upbeat, exciting music as that is what games are about, right? Remember, be specific in your requests.
Mark leaves the website name/link at the end of each video for about 10=15 seconds.
I would recommend with 5 videos or more to set up a YouTube channel. I find this amusing--I have my own channel
It's so user friendly to set up modules, themes, arrange the uploads and you get stats. My channel is here: http://www.youtube.com/user/gamerisms
    BTW, Mark's video services are here: http://fiverr.com/users/markp/gigs/crea ... -any-niche
A criticism of YT is that you don't always get the thumbnail image at the front of the video that you want. They select 3 images and you have to pick one of them.
It was not too much of a problem, but I did not like all their choices.

We also make and publish simple videos onto our review pages, especially with our sites which are in the live dealer industry as the video element is a key selling factor. Hard to measure the impact they have had although I like the look of them

An example with a Celtic Casino (Live Casino Partners) review: http://www.liveroulette.co.uk/celtic-casino/

I do post quite a few video's on one of my sites as i think it adds a level of entertainment and information. I have made several casino review video's but still need to get some more practice at that .

Video marketing is going to be a huge part of the industry over the next few years and niche site similar to whats working in other industry will become relevant in poker as well i.e spadesocial.com

But yeah I think its right to continue to focus on using video as a marketing tool to attract users and give them some visual experiences as well.

I always hated doing new things, but a member here and I started with hotslot.org, a slot resource site and he installed a vbulletin mod for videos. I thought it was dumb but it did great traffic, and since then I started producing videos of my own for it and the views are great. Its almost addicting to place these up there now and for slot machine names the vids i make are ranking in the top 3 on google for the name. I have to say i think its a must for not only traffic but for getting the time spent on pages, a new google measure of your sites.

Thanks Alan, you know who you are.

Video's look very professional on a website. They can be used to introduce your website to new visitors (introduction video), or to share information and content e.g. instructional videos.

I've noticed videos are getting more popular amongst webmasters, they seem to be replacing articles as the preferred way to share content
