Do you plan to use Google +1 on any of your sites?

Last week we announced support for the Google +1 button on the GPWA website for both member affiliate sites and affiliate programs in the thread New GPWA Features Based on Google's +1 Button.

I'm curious of any webmasters here have made use of the Google +1 button on their own sites already, or if any have plans to do so in the future.

We've actually rolled out the feature on a number of other sites as well, so we are watching +1's start to roll in as reported by Google webmaster tools.

If you are using this new feature, or plan to, please share with other folks the sites where you are using or planning to use the feature and how you plan to use it on those sites.

you'd be crazy not to use it, considering the +1 actually shows up in the Google SERPs and further giving trust to your domain / pages to possible traffic/users/players out there.

When you expect traffic from Big G, and Big G gives you something that can boost your serp rank, why not give it a try. It doesn't require anything but a simple implementation.

I'm going to try it when my traffic increases for sure, seems like an important additional ranking factor. Google is really taking the social aspect of marketing very seriously, looks like this is going to be the future of website marketing.

I think it can and will get abused so if Google does count it for a ranking factor it will count very little.

It is not going to hurt either way if you have it on your site so you might as well have one.

If that's any help putting the Google + project in context, I wrote an article about it here: http://pierrickprk.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/plus1/

Nice article prk, that's the first time I've read about what google+ actually is, though I've been clicking + on stuff just to see what happened (not much). Having read about it fully it sounds fucking awful and I hope it fails.

I had like 300 +1 and didn't have any changes at all. A week later Google deleted all them. I started again and has like 100 and was deleted again.

Why would they delete them, twice?

I am not sure if he actually had 300 +1's in a week, unless... the +1 was being spammed and gamed by him and some friends? doesn't sound natural?

I was in a site that you +1 other sites and they +1 you back. After those deleted I give up that site but I read some people that got 500 +1 on that site and their +1 hasn't been deleted.

Interesting concept on +1 me, and I'll +1 you back. It would almost look like a group of similar users liking the same groups of sites - easy way for Google to catch you.

Can already think of ways around it though!

But the purpose for that button is to make TARGETED visitors, bring around more TARGETED visitors. Random people just +1 your site won't really have any benefits but just a big number to boost your ego

I would assume google knows people will want to register gmails in order to gain more +1 but maybe they would use this idea against those websites and aim for natural +1 activities

I just try the the site to see if there was a ranking factor, but there was not any change. The only thing that I saw that was beneficial with the +1 was being indexed very quikly after a few +1.
