Got to be honest here, I never lol on forums if i am not laughing out loud, but "damn you caught me out" on IM...

I found in an article in Wikipedia the following:

"David Crystal[16] notes that use of LOL is not necessarily genuine, just as the use of smiley faces or grins is not necessarily genuine, posing the rhetorical question "How many people are actually 'laughing out loud' when they send LOL?". Franzini[2] concurs, stating that there is as yet no research that has determined the percentage of people who are actually laughing out loud when they write "LOL".


Maybe the result of this poll should be sent to the analyst Franzini to help in his research.

Sometimes im laughing so hard I fall off my chair, and other times I use lol to ease a conversation with a friend. It doesnt in my opinion always mean laugh. Alot of the times to me it means smile which is what I am doing alot when on IM with someone or replying to a post here at gpwa. That should have been one of the choices me thinks.

God I've been at gpwa for days now posting up a storm. If only I could focus this much on my sites LOL !!!!
