    Hi all,

I'm really torn between two different minds of thought. One is that a lot of this stuff is akin to walking thru the velvet rope created mazes when most the time there's no line to merit their existence.

The other is that like it or not ... it is appearing more and more like we are going this direction and you can either try to make the best of it or beat yourself senseless fighting the current and never make any headway to speak of

There was a time when I would have said that much like fads of yesteryear these too will eventually add the inevitable "e" and fade into their 15 minutes of history.

But their seems to be another just waiting around the corner.

I am still needing to catch up with

facebook - is that now out of fashion?

utube - I have watched some videos (thanks Cappy)

twitter - not tweven twure twhat twhat is? (but heard the lang sucks)

the friends thing on the forums - I accept. I like most everybody but then that makes me wonder are these things created to alienate or to include?

to my knowledge the web was created to make information more available.

Now it seems to me that once again the eggheads have over-thought themselves and are now creating groups within the groups and that almost is never a good thing in the end.

I personally will quickly get a feel for a forum (this honestly not in respect to gambling but I feel it much more in broader stream niches) where there is an elitist atmosphere which I seldom return to find out if my first impression was wrong but after visiting 7 or 8 threads you can begin to predict what sort of tone the answers will be given when you go to the next one.

It cannot help but be pondered are these social networks encouraging separation or bringing people closer together?
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

I have an account (The_Real_Chips) but have not done much with it yet, I have just upgraded my forum and there is a tweet hack available, I may add it to the social bookmarks.

    Hi BB!

It's sort of like it works in real life my friend. Some have 'clicks' and others don't. You can hang out with one, both or all. You will not be accepted by eveyone, but it's nothing to lose sleep over. hehe

Sign up dude! You need to be on Facebook, Twitter and any other social networking out there so you will be ready when igaming is regulated. Don't get left behind. j/k

It's an individual thing. Just like anything in life, to some it's like the invention of 'sliced bread' and to others it's a topic of little interest. I've always been in to tecky and new computer things so it works for me and I see huge potential for its use down the line.

Thanks for that bit of information chips. That is on my to-do list.

I'm sure there are plenty of folks who used facebook for a while and then scaled back or stopped all together. Personally, I spend less time there than I used to, but do still actively use it.

But facebook has grown in use tremendously over the past year. In the last 30 days over 175 million people used facebook. And over 3 billion minutes are spent on facebook each day by facebook users (that works out to be an average of 17 minutes per day for every user active in the last thirty days).

And over 850 million photos and 7 million videos are uploaded to the facebook site every month right now.

So, no, facebook is not out of fashion.

I am increasingly finding it difficult to handle so many different communication platforms - forums, Facebook etc.. They are all very useful but somehow I get the feeling that we do all that partly at the expense of our job as webmaster. That's why I am still hesitating to start twittering.

If you observed guys, Twitter have increased it's daily traffic for just some few months and it's becoming one of the greatest success in social networking sites.

I actually use Twitter either for my blogs and site to keep my followers updated with my personal and blog posts. The follow update feature of twitter must be the primary reason why it become a hit for webmasters.

I started using Twitter, because one of my friends strongly suggested me to use it (he has a good success there, not in online gambling sphere, but he has).
I also tested Twitter search, and I liked it, because it's very easy to find current hot news, stories, and etc.

I started a thread in another forum as a twitter diary.

I started yesterday with 19 followers, all starting from a blog i do with NBA picks

From then till today I am about 180 followers

I have dome a lot of research on this. I have ways to convert this traffic, but be careful. Twitter will suspend you for spamming...

I will continue my 30 day experiment (today is day 2) to see what traffic I can generate

More important I will track my time on it...

BTW, most of these posts here I read this" I spent 20 minute sand It didn't make me a trillion dollars"

I think will need a lot of time to be utilized correctly. Like SEO nowadays, cant just be spamming and expect results. Content is still king. I think i'm on the right track on how ot convert this traffic...Will keep you in loop

EDIT: Dont add more then 350 - 500 a day, you will get shut off...I know..

Twitter helps mostly through the number of followers of your profile. If you have only few to boot, you can always ask them to follow you through promoting your twitter profile.

More followers means more potential visitor for your blog/site.

    And you will..

Twitter is going to be hotter and hotter..

More users, = more advertising ops. If you want to prevent it, look under settings, and check the box to make your account private. Means you have to approve those who follow you.

The challenge with twitter, and any of the social networking applications is, you need to ENAGAGE the people who follow you. Just spamming does not work well. I been playing around and notice everytime i spend a hour chatting to random people, my conversions go up dramtically

PS, It has made me money, but the ROI is high right now...Too new to judge, I am sticking with it

Absolutely not , if anything I try very hard to reduce my cyber footprint. The circumstances I am under twitter is a no fly zone. For others it just maybe a excellent marketing tool in the short run IMO.

I don't twitter because I have following reservations:
    1. I don't need it in my private life. sms is more than enough for me.
    2. If I start using it to increase traffic for my site, I will have to be consistent in keeping the communications going. But what does that mean? How much time will I have to invest? And will that be worth it?

    Has anyone joined twittgroups.com?

I haven't myself. I'm just interested in finding more about it and whether anyone here thinks it is useful?
