I use feedburner to take the latest stories in my Gambling News section and publish them as part of my front page. Works well and makes sure that the front page is constantly updated.

Interested to know if the search engines read this content though. I presume they do.

Hi,

I use Feedburner to syndicate my blogs, gambling and others.

It is about the best service I have found to publish your blog feed across multiple readers and provides stats and loads of other cool functions.

The function doolally is talking about is BuzzBoost. I am looking right now for some good way to do something similar to what doolally has done with RSS to HTML. There are a few tools out there like CaRP and others that are used by some rather shady black hat guys for RSS scraping.

BuzzBoost uses a script on the Feedburner network so the problem with it, is that it is not giving you the benefit from an SEO perspective as the content is NOT on your page. Doolally, check out the source of your home page and you will see that the content in not in the HTML. It is all syndicated from Feedburner, therefore the spiders do not see it either. Looks good for the readers but I would take a look at CaRP or something else to get the content actually on your page. You need minimal php knowledge to get it working.

Any more questions, feel free to ask as this is a subject I am investigating right now.

Have a great day.

Also, check out SimplePie as a PHP to RSS parser. Just looking at it now and it looks cool.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't realise that the SE's didn't read the BuzzBoost text - that's one of the reasons I put it there! I've now replaced it with CaRP which seems to work well and in addition, now I've spent a little time setting it up and learning how it works, I can see other uses for it within my sites.

Hi Doolally,

That looks better, the SEs can now see your content and more importantly, follow your internal links.

Glad I could have been help. I am planning some cool stuff with SimplePie so I will report back once I have done it.

Thanks,
