Default Facebook: Your Page has been unpublished

    hi all,
i just wanted to post something on one of my pages on facebook and got the following message:

    "
    Your Page has been unpublished
Promote or facilitate online gambling, games of skill or lotteries, including online casino, sports books, bingo or poker, unless the Page has obtained prior authorization from Facebook.
    "

i have posted on this page for the last 6 or 7 years.
i just checked and saw that i have a couple of other pages too that got unpublished, but not all of them.
there is an 'appeal' button under that text, which gives the following page:

    "
    Appeal a Page Policy Violation
Your Page has been unpublished because it violates one or more of the Facebook Pages Terms. You can appeal our decision here.

    Your Page
Select the Page you're appealing for from the dropdown below.

    Additional Details
Please provide any additional details you'd like us to know as we review your appeal.
    "

my question, does this happen more, and more important, did somebody appeal already and what was the result of that?
I somehow have a feeling that it's going to be a waste of time...

Last week they unpublished my facebook page again.

I used to have a very active facebook page that they unpublished many years ago, so I started a new page a few years ago that they unpublished last week.

I'm not going to appeal, and I certainly am not going to jump through hoops or throw money at them to try and get it back.

I'm now using vk.com as an alternative to it. vk's terms and conditions seem to be OK with our industry.

Same here, and agree with Sweetbet, can't be arsed to appeal cause it'll be denied...unless you throw money at them

Yes, same happened to me, I appealed and was rejected and they asked me to pre-approve a page if it is gambling related.

I wouldn't waste your time, for pre-approval they expected me to have ongoing confirmation from every affiliate on my site of their advertising practices, licences and ongoing work to adhere to any country laws. Either they were being difficult on purpose or just didn't understand affiliate marketing.

Same is happening here too. I also heard that a LICENSED gaming company got shut down on Twitter. Looks like the end is nigh.

We've had a couple of pages unpublished now - and when I clicked on the appeals page - the drop down listed other pages we have that have yet to become unpublished. So I suspect that they'll be kicked off in the not too distant future.

The first page that went - we appealed on the 10th September. Have heard nothing.

Taken a look at the authorization process - it asks for an FB contact - which isn't particularly helpful if you don't have one.

As far as I remember authorization wasn't needed when the pages launched (how easy would it be for FB to have a "if name contains bingo/casino/bet - flag up authorization required).

So we now need authorization for a page that was published before authorization was needed - and in order to do that we can either appeal through an appeal process that doesn't do anything - or fill in a form that we can't submit because we don't have any contact with someone at FB.

Happend to me too, but appears it is not only gambling theme sites that gets removed. I have loan and other themes like photo and they have the same mark as the casinos fb sites had besides their name, but on those other sites it doesnt come up what comes on the gambling sites, that they are removed cause of this and that.. But the mark is there.
I have a lot of domains for sale, gambling and other types, PM.

Looks like a new wave of unpublished pages since September. I don't understand Facebooks behaviour, why they let us operate for years, then block us and send no reply to our appeal? When they need money from us then they should communicate it.
So we have to use Twitter...

IDK, maybe they wait till you build up a decent followers portfolio (they know exactly who each person is, along with the personal data). FB, closes your fan-page, and gets about using that data to do CPA's at casinos etc. Who knows, nothing surprises me anymore.

"I don't understand Facebooks behaviour, why they let us operate for years, then block us and send no reply to our appeal?"

Because almost every single one of that massive Facebook casino page invasion has absolutely no value for the readers, is in reality on the same level as a low level spam machine, and the hijacking of the social media by a major part of this industry is the result, that unfortunately only 10 pages will be listed well on the Google search engine, and it's easier to fill a Facebook page with crap than to publish good content, which no men has seen before in the universe.

The few really good Facebook pages of this industry are also suffering under this spam invasion.

And also the other side of the coin is important to Facebook obviously. The majority of online casino programs are acting like pimps, drug dealer or Ponzi Scheme artists, cheating webmaster and players with all ugly tricks. At least most programs are so incompetent, that it is absolutely appalling. A total public relation disaster.

Only 10% are good and have a real chance in the long run.

This industry had enough time to start a self-cleaning process.
    It never happened.
    The show must go on.
And now this industry more and more pays the price for it.

I can understand Facebook very well.

    Really.

    Leopold

Does anyone know how much does it cost to get a license to promote gambling on Facebook?

It's ridiculous that on our Fanpage we post only Football Tips and it has been unpublished

There is no license per se.
Instead, to prevent your Fan Page from being deleted, AFAIK an advertising spend of @ least $10K a month on FB, is required.
