    foreign gaming companies will be allowed to operate legally in Denmark

    Starting on 1January 2012, foreign gaming companies will be allowed to operate legally in Denmark thanks to a new ruling from the European Commission regarding an attempt by Denmark to block their launch.

    It is correct that foreign gaming companies will be allowed to operate in Denmark from this date if they are approved, but this is because Denmark adopted a law in 2010 liberalising gambling. What happened this week was that the Commission concluded that this law is in line with EU state aid rules.
