Fortune Affiliates: how did they get hold of my private email

I received this from Fortune Affiliates today:

    Hi,

I am the relationship manager here at Fortune Affiliates. I have been looking at your website hundredpercentgambling and have noticed that none of our brands are being advertised .

I would like to re-establish a relationship with you by maximizing presence on your site with the latest reviews of our casinos and a banner/s on the homepage/sub-pages.

    Lets discuss a deal today!

I look forward to hearing from you!

P.S. Work Less, Earn More with Fortune Affiliates!

    Kind Regards,
    Alain B
    Relationship Manager
The interesting thing about this otherwise uninteresting spam is the email it came to. It was the address I use for pretty much all casino accounts, BUT it is not listed anywhere on my site.

The same message came also to my site contact address.

There is no way for Fortune Affiliates to link these addresses. They can only have got it via word of mouth, ie. somebody saying "I know him", FA checking their database, finding my player accounts and emailing that address.

    Why did they do this?

I'm assuming it was a bit of piss-taking oneupmanship. But since a lot a of affies rate FA highly, I think this bears publicising.

I am also keen for FA to let me know, in private of course, how they made the link, ie. who it was who decided to compromise my confidential information.

Hmm. It is possible I actually signed up to Fortune Affiliates in 2005 - I have a FA entry in a notebook, but with no account details, so I'm not sure.

I'll check up on this, but it looks like a plausible explanation.

Still no response to my email requesting clarification of possible affiliate account, and if so, details thereof.

What it seems to be is that I signed up an account in early 2005, when I started my site and signed up with almost all Microgaming programmes, including Fortune Lounge. I never used most of the accounts, and forgot I ever even signed up at Fortune Lounge.

I still haven't received my login details, but I'm confident that this is the situation. I initially assumed FA had acquired my player email address via murky means, which is not the case - my mistake.
