is a gambling certificate needed to do PPC

    Hi guy's,

We were looking at doing some small scale PPC for our site pushing free bet offers but Google have disapproved our ads stating we need a gambling certificate.

As far as I know a gambling certification is only needed if we are a sports book or casino actually offering gambling services, we are just advertising various offers.

I have emailed Google to see if I can get some clarification as there is another affiliate site appearing on a few of the terms that does not seem to have any sort of certification or none I can see on site.

As I understand it a gambling certification means you pay the certification company a % of your profits, it seems strange for an affiliate advertising services to need one of these or pay any sort of fee?

Has anybody dealt with this issue before and know how we can utilise PPC without the need of a certificate?

    Thanks

    Emma

    Hi Emma

Our PPC department has been working with affiliates to help them get certified, and yes, it is necessary, as far as I know. There aren't any fees involved in the certification from google, but some firms, such as ourselves, include it as part of a PPC management package.

If you're already comfortable managing your own PPC campaign, you can get certified by yourself, but I'm not sure how complicated or lengthy the process is. You can send an email to jamie@incomeaccess.com and he might be able to give you more details.

I'm sure this was posted somewhere else..

Have a search around - Alex managed to answer the question...

It could come up under google adwords UK or something like that..

From memory you just had to promote casinos who were on the UK whitelist or something like that. I'm sure if you can't find it Alex would be more than happy to come in here and let you know.

It is possible but it seems to be hit and miss if they accept you or reply!

Anyways - There are a number of rules such as the people you promote have to be white listed, you have to have GamCare prominantly featured. warn agains under 18's etc etc. I think this is the form to fill out http://adwords.google.com/support/aw...sub=aggregator I could be wrong as it was a while ago I filled it out

Oh and don't forget you can only do this in a number of restricted countries so don't go off their list.

Cheers for the info Alex, I will take a look at the link and their whitelist in more detail.

I did think it could be something like making sure I had gamble aware etc on there I hadn't heard of gamcare but will take a look.

I did get an automated response from Google which wasn't very helpful as I ahd already tried searching the help part but it seems they have rules about rules with rules applied to them rules

I will let you know how I get on.

Louis, cheers but we are looking to manage our own PPC, small scale at the moment we just wanted to dip our toe in but I might drop Jamie an email and I will have a look at your programs see as you were so helpful.

Renee, thanks for promoting Alex, if we ever move into casino or poker we will be sure to get ourselves signed up to reward affiliates.

Robert15 keep up the useful posts oh and don't call me dear

    alexpratt is correct,

    http://adwords.google.com/support/aw...sub=aggregator

is the form you need to fill in. Make sure you read what they require, such as a GamCare link or something similar on the homepage.

After they accept, it takes a week or so for you to become 'white listed' so perhaps give it a week until you re-submit your adds.

You may find after this you get rejected again, and this can be because you have direct links to certain things they dont like such as scratch cards in my case.

Also, I got an email from Google themselves from an account manager who is tasked to getting new comers up and running so he is currently sorting my issues out and escalating any problems I have.

Yahoo are also good, and they seem to have less rules around Gambling PPC as google.

I applied last week for an aggregator account with google and was approved today. Although I am based in the UK I dont solely advertise whitelist casinos although I try to only advertise reputable places.

Here's the link for the the guidlines of what google allows to advertise on PPC:
    http://adwords.google.com/support/aw...topic=gambling

    It lists them specifically.
LuckyLiveCasino was just license was just approved for PPC campaigns.

I have tried PPC as an aggregator and have found the bid prices too expensive. The cost for many standard keywords were 22-50 lbs per click! That means the adquisition per player were in the thousands of pounds. Now that was as an aggregator using common keywords.

I think that an expert could use long tail keyword terms and prove more successful.

I'll keep you guys updated on my success.

Thanks for all of this information regarding PPC. I have been wondering if this would help boost my player base, however, at several pounds per click, it is going to take some more research before I sign up. I understand that this is the cost of some of the most popular keywords, but it would be interesting to see how the less popular keywords are doing in cost vs benefit.

Does anyone know if US affiliates are banned from PPC?

    Need help with Google

I am a newbie. I have a new product that is performance numbers for horse racing. I've run into the google problem saying not certified....We don't link to any gambling sites or take bets. Can anyone give me advice or a referral to someone who can on how to get around this?

I didn't even know about PPC, but am going to look into it.

Any help would be appreciated. Don't know where to look.
