    Gamblingindustryassociation double standards

It's ok to ban when you consider the posting style to aggressive (or lack the humour to see the irony in it). What kind of sucks is to delete a posting where i stated that i will be banned for that because it goes against some core beliefs of the aff community and then make it appear that the ban was due to personal attacks.

Never been to GIA but I hear good things about the place.

Nitro, I suspect that you were banned because de-railed every thread with your dogmatic diatribes against anything and everything affiliate based.
It's something that gets tiresome very quickly

You might have some valid points, although it's hard to tell because you go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and round and round and round and round .... but if you try and turn everyone else posts into re-runs of your topics, then webmasters and moderators will quickly tire of it.

You've gotta moderate the delivery of your message if you want to seriously get into a discussion with people about your issues Nitro.

    Exactly.

We tried to let him know the derailing of our threads wasn't appreciated, nor would it be tolerated in the GIA forum.
We've watched the antics here, and just didn't want it to get started at the GIA. So yes, We cut him loose and suggested he continue to post here. Sorry Micheal, and GPWA Mods.

    Nitro,

Quite a number of forums, including the GIA and the GPWA, are members of the Affiliate Forum Alliance (AffiliateForumAlliace.com).

Anyone who feels they are unfairly banned from any AFA member website may file a complaint there and it will be investigated. And both the complaint and the results of the investigation will remain visible on the AFA website over the long term for other webmasters to be able to view.

One of the objectives of the AFA was for there to be a website that would guarantee issues with any member website and the resolution would remain visible for all to see. And also to provide a method for expulsion from the AFA for members that were not deemed to be following the ethical principles upon which the AFA was founded.

    Nitro,

There have been many MANY times here at the GPWA where members have called for YOUR banning. I have personally gotten a number of pm's, as well as have been asked during phone conversations with other affiliates, asking me why we have waited to ban you here.

Bytheway Nitro, I have moderation and banning powers here as well, but have rarely ever banned anyone here except for spammers.

Gooner pretty much hit the nail on the head, and like Nick stated, we tried to let you know that we would NOT tolerate the constant derailing of threads.

Lately in many of your posts you feel you are wasting your time posting here and at other affiliate realted forums.

If that is true, why do you bother and continue to waste our time with your posts?

I would like to think that only valid complaints would be investigated.

In this particular case, I hardly think nitro has a valid complaint. 2 minutes of reading his posts at AGD, Casinomeister or GIA will confirm my point.

The GIA must have a very very good reason for the banishment Nitro speaking from experience. I been a tad controversial but not once did I approach being banned from the GIA. If anything I banned myself once only to remit myself.

I think all complaints would be investigated. The level of effort required in the investigation would be minimal if there were a legitimate reason for the banning. Basically, the complaint would be forwarded to the forum in question for a response to the complaint, and the complaint and response would be posted for all to see. The complainant then has the opportunity to accept or reject the response. If it is accepted, the process is finished. If not, other AFA members could request additional clarficaion, if they wished, from either the complainant or from the AFA member against which the complaint was lodged. Based on that the other AFA members would vote on whether the action of the forum was held as reasonable. If it is, then the positions would be made public and the matter would be closed. If not, the nature of the issue and the concensus of the other AFA members relating to the issue would be posted. The AFA member forum would be expected to address the situation or risk expulsion from the AFA.

The AFA has not actually received any complaints against any member forum so the process I describe above might evolve a bit based on input from AFA members in the context of handling an actual complaint.

Usually a vote is taken before that happens.

Have you ever come up with the idea that it is quite funny watching people that aren't aware that they are fools but the fun factor diminishes rapidly once you try to expose this...

Have you tried making any posts that aren't insulting and intended to piss people off?

In your short time here, you've managed to insult and attack more people than any other member I know. Congratulations on that achievement.

It's a combination of honesty and the quote in your footnote in the end.
