George Will is one of the most widely-read syndicated columnists in the U.S. Over 350 newspapers pick up his bi-weekly column. He is a Pulitzer-prize winner and also writes for Newsweek.
Will's Sunday column was entitled "Internet gambling ban a raw deal for poker players."
Having turned gambling, which once was treated as a sin, into a social policy, government looks silly criminalizing online forms of it. Granted, some people gamble excessively (although not nearly as many people as eat excessively). But never mind whether government should try to circumscribe a ubiquitous human activity that generally harms nobody.
