Will be keeping an eye out for when this materialises.

    Hope it does and soon!

    Default Googles double standards

Nice to see they have made this decision. However, the cynic in me makes me think its all about $$$$ and cash flow rather than taking any moral high ground. Latest news is that Google are having to cut jobs for the first time in their history.

I cannot seem to find any confirmation of this yet.

After a lot of arguing with them last month they told me i could advertise individual sites as an affiliate providing that i could furnish them with the poker houses licence.

This was after i had communication with the UK gambling commission and they confirmed that i did not nor could not get a licence as an affiliate.

I have read somewhere that google are allowing advertising if the affiliate has a licence.

Guess Google now allows Adwords in the UK.

In US its still not allowed but you can make it work if you can manage to sneak your ads through.

Quite surprisingly, there are others who are promoting it without any license et cetra. I have had live campaigns too but they last for 2 to 3 weeks only.

    Hi All

Let me jump in here, that blog post is quite old now. There is a part about affiliates needing a license. This not the case as affiliates do not need a license but they do need be compliant with Google white listing.

In October of this year Google had changed their white listing status, previously if you had one website white listed then you could use other web sites that you owned for PPC.

Now the white listing status is at the website level. So if you have multiple websites that you want to do drive to traffic too then you will need to apply for a white listing status for each website.

Are the campaigns meeting your expectations Buckdat?

I did not know of any white listing status offered by Google, Jamie.

All I know is that Google treats all the the affiliate websites as doorway pages as they are draining traffic to a mother website - the main gambling website - and in turn are minting incentives for it.

Per Google's policy, one website can only advertise once on adwords. But this is not the case with affiliate websites which all drain traffic to one main website. Hence, Google slaps them without a fail.

yes, my campaigns are doing well so far. CPC hovers around $1 to $2.

Yeah I imagine the bid for these words will be way out of the normal affiliates budget.
