Google, Yahoo, Microsoft settle online gambling ad case

Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are paying a combined $31.5 million to the U.S. government to settle a federal civil case for accepting online gambling advertisements. All three stop accepting ads from online gaming companies a few years ago, so Buzzy isn't quite sure why the settlement is happening now.

    This is an interesting statement....

"Microsoft's $21 million portion of the settlement includes a $4.5 million forfeit, $7.5 million to be paid to the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children and $9 million in public service ads over a three-year period starting next year.
The public service campaign will be aimed at informing users, especially those of college age and younger, that online gambling is illegal."

Online gambling is not illegal!! No wonder players are confused, sheesh!
