About LinkBacksI'm very pleased and excited to announce that earlier today the GPWA established a controlling interest in Bodog.
Bodog has an active fanbase on facebook and Calvin Ayre, the CEO of Bodog, has been a friend of mine on facebook for some time. Earlier today that friendship was taken to a new level when I acquired Calvin as a "pet" of mine using the popular "Friends for Sale!" facebook application. The application has well over a half million users on a daily basis.
Planning for the acquision began some time ago. Any acquisition takes capital, and the first order of business was to raise the capital necessary to purchase Calvin. This was a group exercise at a management level within the GPWA since we felt it was necessary to raise the "Friends for Sale!" funds required for the initial acquisition as well as the funds that might be necessary to fight off any subsequent hostile takeover attempts. We want our controlling interest to survive over the longer term - not just for an afternoon. And I'm trying to make sure Calvin is treated in a first class fashion. One of my first actions as his new owner was to have another pet of mine, Rebecca Liggero, smile at him and then dance with him.
Over the longer term, I expect facebook to play an increasingly important role in the GPWA. We are devoting a substantial effort to building facebook applications that we think will change the face of the iGaming industry. We invite you to join us for an exciting ride. I read the newsletter bit and when I seen the title and little intro I just couldnt believe it. I actually thought you guys may have bought out the company...nice touch

We'll definitely be interested. And we think everyone in the GPWA will be interested when we announce the infrastructure we're developing and how it can be used at CAC Amsterdam.
