    GPWA Favicon Contest

Four months ago GaGaGirl noted that the GPWA forum did not have a favicon. And earlier this month craig69 picked up the charge. The result was that we quickly put one together a couple weeks ago so that we could at least say we had one.

But, since the day it was put up, I viewed it as a temporary favicon. At least in the sense that I thought there should be a few choices to choose from. And also in the sense that folks here had different views, and that sentiment has been confirmed by members here has well. So it makes sense to open submissions of proposed favicons to everyone, and for members here to subsequently vote on the one they like the best.

So, here is your chance. Propose a favicon for consideration by posting it in this thread. Next week we will have a poll to help select the winner. You could become an internationally famous artist within the GPWA community if you submit the winning icon!

Here are the favicon concepts developed by George, our in-house graphics designer:

    Name: GPWA-Favicon-Concept-1.jpg
Views: 187
Size: 21.1 KB Concept 1: Letters GPWA alternating gold and green letters and background. This is the initial favicon George developed and it is the current GPWA website favicon.

    Name: GPWA-Favicon-Concept-3.jpg
Views: 191
Size: 934 Bytes Concept 2: Letters GPWA in gold on a green background.

    Name: GPWA-Favicon-Concept-2.jpg
Views: 188
Size: 914 Bytes Concept 3: Stand-alone gold G on a green background.

    Name: GPWA-Favicon-Concept-4.jpg
Views: 190
Size: 803 Bytes Concept 4: Stand-alone green G on a transparent background with shadow.

I didn't realize it until later, but craig69 had proposed an icon before George put together any of the concepts above:

    Name: favicon-1703d1299026368-gpwa.jpg
Views: 1
Size: 521 Bytes Favicon proposed by Craig69

So, at the moment we have five designs to consider when we put this to a vote. I hope we have a few additional good suggestions before we put the submissions to a vote next week.

    Michael

The criteria was to keep the design as near as possible to the seal. Hope you like!

I will probably go for the # 2 concept, it resembles the gpwa logo more than the existing favicon now. But my choice could change after everyone has posted their works.

    Concept 2 for me.

Concept 1 feels a bit too much like Hogwarts or something for my liking.
