    GPWA.org now our official domain

The Gambling Portal Webmasters Association is an organization of webmasters and others that work together. So we decided some time ago that GPWA.org was a better domain for the GPWA than GPWA.net.

We acquired the domain name GPWA.org about 1 1/2 years ago to complement the historical domain name GPWA.net that has been used for the GPWA. And we've been using GPWA.org rather than GPWA.net when promoting the GPWA for some time.

Today we are officially switching completely away from the GPWA.net domain and all pages on the site will be shown as being under the domain GPWA.org. The time is ripe since Google has recognized our increased reliance on GPWA.org and no longer considers GPWA.net to be our primary domain. Of course, external links to GPWA.net will continue to work. They will just be redirected to the corresponding GPWA.org page.

During the short transition period today there may be a few glitches. And you will need to log in again if you were using cookies to remember your login since the GPWA.org domain rather than the GPWA.net domain will now be used to retain that information. I appologise for the temporary inconvenience.

    Smooth transition.

    Michael,
I had about an hour or so I couldn't log on, but when I did the transition was smooth without any problems. Good job!

Definitely a good move. There's something far more 'authoritative' about being an org. Gives us a all a nice warm feeling of belonging to something worthwhile!

Kudos on the move from .net to .org.

Sounds like it was a smooth process. I never felt any bumps along the way. Yep, very smooth transition.
