    I completely agree with you.

Content is still the king. But make sure there are hundreds of KINGS around!

Make 20-30 real KINGS and see the results.

And above all the efficiency of the traffic is more important than the traffic volume.

By the way, strong content is not the longest one. It is the one which has got comprehensive information including charts, images, diagrams, videos and all rich media.

It may be even around 500-700 words but may rank at the top 3 for the specific KWs.

Google is not the same once it was anymore!

So, just focus on making useful content. That is all.

    Cheers!

The content is king strategy has been completely blown our of proportion and is very much misguided. Your content should be worth while without having to spam hundreds of articles. You can rank a website without blogs, as your content is every part of the website, whether its a review page, an about page, a contact page - thats all content. I'd much rather have 20 quality pages that i have absolutely mastered and done everything possible to make them great... rather than spending time writing hundreds of low quality articles.

I'm presently in the process of undoing the thousands of articles that previous SEO's in my position have churned out (I have been newly appointed into my current job for this reason, to fix this problem) and the rankings for our site have dropped significantly over the last 12 months due to mass content.... causing high bounce rates, low time on page signals and lots of exit points for readers!

I can't even imagine what a casino site would look like with hundreds of articles... is there that much to write?

Seems that no more discussion, but whatever. Found this thread couple of days ago and it has been quite an eye-opener and most of all inspirational. I've gotten so many new ideas my head almost exploded. At the same time a bit intimidating, because it all shows you have to put insane amount of effort to everything. I come from playing 300 hours of poker every month, so I see some light at the end of the tunnel. But I understand if many don't.
Would pay good money to read blogs of similar journeys.

This is a great thread, intriguing and also inspiring and I say this as a casino affiliate since 2004. You have done wonders with CasinoWhizz and it just goes to show hard work does still pay off.

I used to read a website, it's a bit dated now but still has some amazingly good content, called Affiliate Bible. Guy who runs it goes by the pseudonym Dealer Dan. He's a nice fellow who will actually chat with you via email if you reach out to him and have something interesting to discuss. Give his site a read: http://www.affiliatebible.com/

Your content is definitely key here, alongside with patience of course! Itís important to ensure you have relevant content that is of value to the reader and not just random content to fill pages. Try mixing it up a little and write some great headlines that will keep their attention on your site - controversial/viral/rumour topics are always great to include.

Incorporate media and interactive channels - videos, polls etc are always an excellent idea! Advertising is a great way to attract visitors to your site. You can also be more present on social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, Facebook etc) as it can propel your numbers if done correctly.

If I may ask, how much link building did you do for the site?

Google "wants" content to be king. Today, their algo is better than 2008.

Only with quality content, you can be on first page in about 6 months for medium search terms.

Then, you still need links to be at top or top 3. Because, top ranking sites create both content and links.

Back in 2008, you were not able to be on top 100 just with content.

    Write good detailed content.

Don't swap links with just anyone, maybe a few here or there, with other quality sites that contain quality material. (although many will recommend NEVER swap links)

Wow .. So glad someone revived this old thread ... I've only just seen and read it !

WP , hows the site doing to date ?
Amazing results by the way ..

I really believe in content sharing especially facebook..
I have one facebook page ( wont share as it is extremely niche ) and I share just 2 articles a day from the site on to the page
Every day it get at least 29 new likes ( currently 3217 ) all organic & a very high post engagement back to the site

I also like to create little polls on the facebook page just to keep the engagement up as well as silly little competitions which involves a basic question as well as sharing and liking the post, with a £10 prize to the winner
Its incredible at how well this works ( these generate the high engagement posts & these also result in the biggest conversions on the main site itself )

Anyway I'm going off track ...
This thread is definitely inspiring and I've let my favourite slot domain sit pretty much unloved and inactive for far too long
so I'm also going to get the main structurer up along with basic content then I will also do a 6 month challenge.
Will create a new thread as soon as the site is in a "Launchable" state

    Congrats again WP
