As already mentioned here several times, a good host is most important. However, there are also some factors that you can actively change on your site to achieve more speed. The new Google Tool in the GSC is certainly helpful! If you need more information, just let me know

Before using any tools, I would recommend checking these:
    - Images - are they size optimized? You can use a tool like jpeg.io or ask a designer to do it in-house on photoshop (that's the best option)
    - Are you using Cloudflare or similar service to serve resources from the best location? You should definitely do it.
    - Are you using dedicated hosting?
    - Are you using unnecessary Wordpress plugins? For example, Elementor is one of the plugins that slow your website a lot.
    - Are you embedding Youtube videos? Even though good for indexing, Youtube downloads ~1MB prior to the loading of the video!! There is a workaround, ask your developer.

And something about cacheing. Keep in mind that matters for repeating visitors and not for first timers.

Firstly you should have perfect content and not too much videos and animations on your page, and of course you have to make nice usability of your website ( website optimization ) and after that just use google checker for mobile and pc version of your website

Google PageSpeed, GTMetrics, Pingdom and start reading
Once you are done implement a CDN.

Most affiliates these days don't code, much less, know what the negative attributes mean, or how to fix them.

These speed test sites definitely give an indication if one's site is below speed-par, but not much good reading the reports, if one doesn't know how to fix the issues. For most of the problems you need to be able to code

Not using cheap web hosting, and limiting the number of WP plugins also helps.
A CDN should be employed only after one's coding etc., etc., is optimized.

Check speed issues in Gtmerix.com and in Google search console. Then get help from a developer to fix those issues. I'm working on these types of issues myself now. Also, as someone else suggested, look over your hosting that is really important.

Adding AdSense tags slows the page down. Those includes are the ones Google Speed test complains about. Any solutions? (gambling niche is a pain to get ad networks to approve)

Here was many services, so plus to it I'd recommend find some tech specialist with deply understanding your cms and ask him for help with optimisation.

If you don't have the traffic but the money:

Setup your site on a CDN. Activate cache.

Get a website monitoring service, that pings the website every one to five minutes.

This way your site will always remain in the node cache of the CDN, and work blazingly fast.

Hosting is vital! it's always worth paying that bit extra for good hosting services... make sure that images are minimised wherever possible and mobile friendly. Please dont do what I did with a previous site and expect a bunch of plugins to fix all the problems. They rarely do. If you have a good developer they should know what is needed.

We don't do anything over the top, the 3 basic things like having a fast host, reducing image size and not having a clunky theme does the trick.
