With my affiliate hat on I'll say that nothing annoys me more than an affiliate manager that doesn't put effort into responding and helping me, it isn't that hard to give accurate time frames or spend 5 minutes responding to an email just to make life easier, it is there job after all. If something takes a long time (an hour +) then I'll schedule it in my calender as soon as possible based on how urgent it is.

What annoys me is the slowest responding always seem to be the best to promote in my book. With the service I get from some of my top earning programs it feels like they are doing me the favour just by paying me every month!

I 100% understand that being an affiliate manager eats up time, but it is not rocket science. Getting slow/bad responses and not enough service is either poor organisation from the AM or it means they don't care about there job.

Took over a month to reply to a query within their affilaite program that their newly released widgets were not functioning as they said. That reply simply said "sorry we're late - is there still a problem?"

When I replied to their reply with more detail, I got an "auto-reply" that the person had gone on holiday that afternoon - but at least there was an additional suggestion as to who could help. So I sent a forward onto that new person - who promptly has ignored the email. And one month later the original person has not responded either ...

Upshot - it's been nearly two months now - no useful reply - and they've lost those promotional spots to other programs.

    Paddy Power
Just a simple one here - no-one ever checks their affilaite program messages - and all my previous aff Managers have moved on. This means that we have no effective contact with PaddyPower right now - so they also lose out on promotional ideas.
What has happened at Paddy Power? Same thing. No contact details at all and any email ends up with sportsbook customer services and they have never heard of the word 'affiliate'. If anyone is still employed in the Paddy Power affiliate dept could they PM me their details. Does seem like promoting some sort of ghost program, though the standard emails with offers of the week are sent out.

Ladbrokes never used to answer an email. Their current system is not income access (as someone has stated in this thread), I think it is the orbis/openbet in-house affiliate software that has not changed in years. Ladbrokes are the last ones using it and a move to income access can only be an improvement. As stated by someone, Will Hill should do likewise either to IA, netrefer or myaffiliates.

you're mixing 2 threads up but I know what you are on about. It was me that mentioned William Hill should move as well (it's all on my Ladbrokes thread) , didn't they use netrefer for a very short time before completely switching to the affutd site?

Not sure as I did not promote them then because several years ago (certainly when they first started) it was some sort of rubbish CPA deal, so I could not be bothered with it as everyone else was doing rev share. When I read about fiascos with the subsequent migration to the affutd software I was so glad not to have been involved. A switch to say Income Access would remove any lingering doubts anyone has about the credibility of their current system and the figures will be easier to make sense of.

I got so tired of waiting, when I first started-out, that I just started programming my own content with download links and would make sure that their guidelines allowed me to do so. I just didn't have the support and response to which all of you are referring. I just had to do it myself. It made it very hard for me, but I guess I also learned a lot too.

I had a similar story that may be worse than yours. I registered an account with a poker affiliate program not long ago, I contact them twice because I thought the link codes were not correct. Nothing came back to me after that. This just told me there is no need to worry about anything about their site promotion.

I hope your case is not that bad and a responsible manager can send you the right thing soon.

Stop promoting programs that have poor affiliate management support. If a problem arises or you need help do you really want to wait a month or having to chase someone down?

    ---------------

We have introduced over 2500 depositing customers to Ladbrokes in the last 10 years, and 1800 depositing customers to PaddyPower in the last 8 years. While we might not be HUGE we are effective at what we do - when we can find someone to work with to provide links, banners and sort out problems.

Seriously programs, if you're in the business then find people who can be bothered keeping on top of the mail.
I have had the same issue with paddy power in the past so I brought it up at LAC with them, they were unaware of any issues. They have checked and found that a redirect had been broken in the affiliate program. It should be sorted now

So who are the AMs at Paddy Power? I used to get inundated with effusive emails from AMs that had names and email addresses, always pushing the brand. It is like they all disappeared overnight and then a robot was put in charge of the weekly promo email.

Ladbrokes gave me the same excuse when I queried why they never responded to emails - it was broken. Must still be.

Good to Sky's name has not been noted negatively here Though I would have hoped to see we were up there with the ones who are pretty reliable. Ahem

If we have to be completely honest, Sky was one of the programs I was talking about I just chose not to mention the name, as I am no where in the position to demand whatsoever. We did however talked about a banner back in November, then in December and it's now February.

Ouch Mitko - shot me down. I did a good job with the first page peel Sky has ever offered to an affiliate though right?

I all seriousness. It will be in your inbox by Friday - I did brief it with design but they can be a little "forgetfull" if not pushed!

    I'll just keep quiet now

Yes hands down on the page peel Too bad it did not convert as well as I'd assumed it will do. Thanks, will be looking forward to it. As I said not in position of demanding, but just sharing with the rest. Have a good night.
